As an avid photographer who is new to aerial photography, I am delighted with the DJI Mini 2. It is easy to fly--I even took it out over water on my first flight, although briefly and controlled in Cine mode. Despite the small, compact size, it is surprisingly stable and takes sharp images, even in some wind.The controls are responsive and set up is intuitive and plug-and-play while still providing numerous options for customization.As a first drone, this is a winner. I am happy with this purchase and highly recommend this product.

I have mixed feelings about this product. First the bad things. It was confusing trying to get this thing hooked up with my phone. The online instruction we sketchy. They (DJI) seemed to want a lot of information from you to set up an account. I only gave them the bare minimum. As this product is from China, I'm sure the Chinese government have their fingers in and have access to some of the information you provide.The instructions weren't precise and simple. I had to figure out how to swap out the cables from the remote to the phone. It DID NOT include the spare propellers as stated on the outside of the box and the product description. I ended up buying additional spare since they weren't included.For the good part. It was easy to fly - that is once you got the app loaded and the darn controller finally connecting with the drone which I had problems doing.

 Going to start this review by saying that I often use the comments by consumers on products I research as part of my decision making, buy have never been one to provide my thoughts of a product for others to potentially use as part of their decision. I am not new to the RC hobby world. All I have until now have been land based applications even though I have a strong interest in RC planes and helicopters, but knew this was a much steeper money proposition and the simple fact that there will be a crash, so I never made the leap. Then the drones came on the scene. Felt this was an option to explore. I am not going to hold back any punches. I 1st bought a Dromida Hover Shot - AKA POS!. This was a small drone purchased with the intent to LEARN. It did have a small supposed 720p camera. If you understand my abbreviation that is enough said. That was 3 maybe 4 years ago. Drone interest went dead. Then beginning of this year I started looking again. Checked out many options and am very aware that one can get into some serious money just like the planes real quick. Found that the Contixo F35 Premium. First I will say that there seem to be several different "named" drones that by physical build look to be the same aside from some badging. 1 Stand out with the F35 Premium is it comes with a 1year warranty. Most of the others - No Dice not even close. And I want to point out I set a cap on myself at $400. 2nd Stand out with this package deal is the memory card. Most of the others are the drone, case, 2 batteries with charging cord and that's it. Not only does it come with one, it is 128mb. Now for the drone. Nice build, nothing feels cheap, even when the batter is out as this adds a considerable amount of weight to the unit. I am by no means an experienced drone operator and because my 1st drone buy was such a failure I had hardly any flight time and was quite nervous to operate. 1st, the drone comes already in beginner mode, then with it in GPS mode, this made it very comfortable for me to enjoy learning how to fly. I highly recommend it if you are a drone virgin. Durability wise, I did have a minor incident on landing and was doing so w/o the RTH function. Trimmed some tall grass but drone was fine. It was a slight bit more then it sounds but trying not to make myself sound like a complete putz. Now the part that seems to be the apex of controversy when it comes to drones in this price point. The 4k camera. I am an above normal person when it comes to home entertainment and audio/visual equipment. I currently have 4k monitors throughout my home. Can I say watching the video I have taken on this drone and it to be the same of a 4k produced movie. No. But I also do not own the equipment that can accurately test the video signal and validate the data compression of the video. And for the bone heads out there that want to complain about video not being true 4k, you jack asses don't either. I am very pleased and satisfied with the quality of the video. For the money spent - very happy, nice job Contixo. For those that read other reviews that want to complain about the video, or if you are one of those that did the complaining, I will make this real simple. You are shopping a $400 drone that has some fantastic features and a nice camera on a 2 axis gimbal - which works Great!. If you think you are going to get video like that of a multi million dollar movie or equal to a 20k 4k studio video camera, your not. Take your head out of your seat and let some oxygen in. Then go over and start looking at the drones that start at about $800 and higher. If you don't want to buck up that amount of coin, then you can be happy with what companies like Contixo have done to make a reasonably priced drone with some advanced features so the beginners and enthusiast can start to enjoy a new hobby. If not, shut up, have a coke and go fly a kite, stop discouraging others from making what they would otherwise find to be a satisfying purchase just because you have expectations that are unrealistic for the money being spent.

Simply amazing. The voice activation works great, clarity and color of images are terrific, and it has a solid feel for being so small. I would say the most important piece of equipment needed is the Gimbal for smooth recording. Just make sure you add that into your cost, but hey, if you get the Karma drone, it comes with it.... My opinion is that you get what you pay for and when it comes to technology, you have to get the best. I highly recommend this product.

The drone and camera work really well, first of all. The problem is I’m a doofus for buying this product despite living near the edge Washington DC’s heavily restricted airspace. I was hoping this product would help me stay off an extension ladder to inspect parts of my home and I figured the FAA wouldn’t mind if I flew around my own house. The trouble is the navigation software had other plans and wouldn’t even let me take off unless I have documentation proving the FAA has given me authorization. I understand dji’s restrictions in theory but I’m still pretty bummed. This is more a warning to other doofuses like me than a dig at DJI.

I do have an issue with my purchase that I will explain at the conclusion of my review.In my limited opinion this drone is a fantastic product.With regard to ease of learning to operate this item takes considerable research and practice to get to a level of operating with full confidence and control will take some time. Although there are lots of info and tools on the internet to assist with your progress.As for a beginner this drone would be awesome as it responds so well to the remote and has satellite tracking so it gives you the confidence to fly beyond your comfort zone and know that it will come back provided you do your preflight and setup correctly.My issue with my purchase is with Amazon. I bought the DJI Mini 2 from Amazon warehouse deals at a discount and did not receive a couple of the items stated to be included in the box. The box has a sticker on it showing that it had been inspected.When I notified Amazon of the missing items the only suggestion the individual provided was to return the purchase.In my thoughts the items missing are not essential to the operation of the Mini and I could source them on my own and chose not to return.Anyway, I would recommend anyone to purchase this product.

This product was a great present for my daughter's birthday. I'm extremely happy with the purchase, but there was a hiccup. After flying it about 4 times on different days to learn, we finally decided to try to hook up the camera feature. On this day something so bizarre happened....... Upon turning the drone on and hitting the one button take off button, the drone fly up up and away!!!! It went straight up and stopped responding to the remote or never really did on this day. It went straight up and disappeared. You'd be amazed at how you can lose a black object in a clear blue sky, but that's how high it went. It disappeared never to be seen again. It was extremely easy to use up to this point, but now it was lost. After reading the reviews, it has happened to others and I reached out to the manufacturer. They sent a replacement fast and that's what's pictured here. So if nothing else, this was Great customer service. That alone made me give them 5 stars overall.

Purchased this to use with a Phantom Drone. The first one arrived with a battery charging issue. Contacted the seller and they immediately made good. Sent the replacement and followed up to make sure everything worked fine. For less than half the price of Brand X, this camera has provided great quality video and comes with all the attachments and remote. It'll do time lapse and you can flip the video. Also has an app to use with your phone. I recommend this product highly and would not hesitate to buy it again.
