It's not a bad item, works well with my sony video camera. However, when I first plugged it in, I found it didn't work even after making sure everything was fully charged. I learned the Transmitter and Receiver were not in sync and, therefore, the Receiver was not getting the Transmitter's signal. So, to help people with that, here's a very basic step-by-step, because the instructions are pretty vague, on how to fix that and get your lavalier to work.Step 1 - shut off your receiver, that'll be the small piece.Step 2 - shut off your transmitter.Step 3 - turn on your transmitter and hold down the power button and the left and right channel / volume buttons all at the same time, the face of the transmitter will flash.Step 4 - turn on your receiver and hold down the power button until its flashing.Step 5 - once the receiver has stopped flashing it's connected.Step 6 - press the power button on the transmitter briefly, not to shut it off, but to get the transmitter to stop flashing.Step 7 - plug in your receiver to the MIC input in whatever you're using it for.Step 8 - make sure your microphone is tightly seated into the transmitter and screw the attachment on so it's tight, but not overly so, don't jam it.Now the two are properly synced together and you should have no problem using it.

They are a step above in each aspect I purchased them for; they produce a clear distinctive sound, once secured there is very little that can invade what you are listening to at just the appropriate volume!

Its reassuring to find a step-by-step book in which the author offers friendly advice and careful guidance on the various techniques on how to produce quality, more artistic photos, all the while thinking from the lens perspective. For those who are reluctant to learn about the complexity of this medium, this book helps beginners like me especially the chapters on developing an artistic plan, the basics of composition and the importance of lighting. Also, I actually never thought in terms of “every picture tells a story,” but from now on I will.
