Really solid connection to body and lens. Aperture ring is smooth to turn and it should work well if you decide to take it apart and de-click the aperture control.

Excellent Lens for the Money
I own this lens and the Canon 17-40L and i have done shot by shot comparisons. Most of the time, the shots are very similar in terms of sharpness and overall IQ. However, there are many times the RF16 does a better job. In general, i think the RF16 is a bit sharper than the 17-40L. There may be more distortion with the RF on occasion but much of that can be corrected. One big advantage is that the RF16 can focus much closer than the 40L. With the RF 16 you can get very close to your subject making it in effect an almost wide angle close up or macro lens. You also have the advantage of the 2.8 aperture. Put those two advantages together and you have the possibility to get wide angle close up shots with bokeh. The bokeh is generally pleasing although admittedly not as good as specific lens for that purpose. The RF 16 is also a much smaller lighter lens that is very nice attached to your R camera. Of course it is also much less expensive than the 17-40L . The only real advantage of the 17-40L is its focal range, however at 40mm the quality is not the greatest. The RF 16 also has the control ring advantage over the 17-40. As mentioned by others, the RF16 has significant distortion but it is something that is fairly corrected with the proper lens profile, and it doesnt really show up too much in traditional landscape shots. The 17-40L also has distortion but perhaps not as noticeable. There are certainly ways to correct the distorion on the RF16.So to recap, a small lightweight wide angle lens with excellent sharpness and color, that can focus very close to your subject and provide decent bokeh with its 2.8 aperture. All for less than 300. A great lens offering from Canon.

What is better than "nifty fifty"?
You know the nickname of this lens? It is called "nifty fifty" for a reason! Unless you are a professional filmmaker, this lens is what you need. It has great quality, perfect sharpness, and good af performance. Use it with a wide-open aperture and capture awesome portraits. I even got a macro extension tube for this; now I am doing macro photography with it!

Must have for zoom calls.
I was using the camera on my MacBook Air, but the quality wasn’t very good and I needed a lot of additional lighting for Zoom calls. So, I decided to add a webcam to my Zoom setup. The eMeet C960 is a great camera. The wider field of view, better quality lens and improved aperture makes a huge difference. Clearer, brighter and easy to reposition to show other views during a call. I highly recommend adding a webcam and the quality of this camera is exceptional for the price.

Not a bad ring cam, middle of the
Sacrifices low light capabilities for the LED ring light. It isn’t really a ring light, there are 3 LEDs either side of the lens. It’s better than a lot of the cheaper webcams, to be fair.

Had debris inside the aperture lens but a good qua
I ordered a Celestron Travel Scope 70mm Portable Telescope on 3/5/2019 and received it on 3/7/2019. Upon inspection I found there is three small pieces of debris on the inside of the aperture lens. One of the pieces is very obvious. I can see them looking into the telescope without an eyepiece but with an eyepiece I can't see them because they're out of focus.I contacted Celestron Technical Support via email and they replied within 24hrs. And that was during this passed weekend, kudos to Celestron Technical Support. They're fantastic. They said something that small can ruin a viewing session. They advised me to send it back for an exchange.I sent them 2 pictures of the debris with the email. One picture shows the biggest obvious piece. The second picture shows the second piece at the 6 o'clock position and third piece at the 9 o'clock position. There may be some more even smaller pieces of debris. The pictures posted here are not oriented right and turned out that way when I copied them. They need to be turned a 1/4 turn counter clockwise.Despite the debris inside the telescope lens I wouldn't hesitate to recommend a Celestron telescope to anyone. They have great customer support.Update 3/12/2019: I received the replacement telescope today. This telescope didn't have any debris on the inside of the aperture lens and everything else was fine. Just waiting for nice weather in my area to be able to use it. Also I may replace the finderscope with a better red-dot finderscope as the one that comes with it can be easily bumped out of alignment.

Love the f1.8
Very good lens. Canon quality and great for low light since the f1.8 aperture lets in so much light. Well worth the money. I gave this 3 stars for portrait photography simply because I prefer 100mm for my portraiture.

Excellent
This camera has greatly exceeded my expectations. The image quality is much greater than I would have imagined from such an inexpensive camera. I have often seen this billed as a "beginners dslr," but I am actually very impressed with the features it comes with. The almost complete lack of noise, even at the extreme ends of the aperture and shutter speeds is especially amazing. The lens is also much better quality than I would have expected from a kit.

Bang for your buck!
This lens was given to me as a gift and I love it.The aperture setting lets so much light in that my shots look impressive. For the price, it's the best you can get. It's a bit hard because it's a one size lens and novice photographers may get irritated but with practice, you can definitely hone in your craft. Learn your angles!
