The ball head movea slightly as you tighten the head. Otherwise it’s a decent tripod for the money. I use it mostly as a B-camera tripod when shooting video.

Selfie tripod
Look sturdy and light. Wish the head part of tripod is a ball so I can turn camera/cell in all directions. Current design allows 360 degree turn.

Good for what it is.
Good for what it is. This is a light weight easily carried tripod which is perfectly adequate for 90% of field photography. It has a ball head and easily operated leg extension lock levers.

Great Ball Head
I went with a much cheaper ball head, and that thing literally fell apart the instant I started using it. Compared to the cheaper ball heads I've used, this thing is a tank.Easy to tell this a quality item, and that it works well. Nothing more I can really say. You pay a premium for this product, but in exchange, you get a premium product from a premium name.

Love the tripod, terrible ball head.
The tripod is great, but the ballhead is awful and adds shake and instability, and it doesn't stay settled in the place you tighten it down at, which is terribly frustrating to mess around with. I end up setting the ball head and then using the legs to make finer adjustments for leveling. Feels backwards to me so I docked a star.

Class Ball Head
It just doesn't get any better, the quality is outstanding, the grip is Rolls Royce and you move with ease, to any position, even with a heavy lens attached. Never go without it.

Oben BE-126T from Royal Note Stores
Bought used from Amazon. Seller was very prompt shipping. Item looks brand new and works perfectly. I have never used a stand alone ball head for a tripod before. This appears to be a good one. Very solid construction, silky smooth controls, and ball head locks up very sturdily with little effort on the control knob. When released, it has just the right amount of tension to allow easy repositioning. Has a bubble level on the Arca Swiss style mounting head. Very nice ball head in my opinion. Would highly recommend this seller and would buy from them again.

Good tripod with disappointing ball head.
I wanted a replacement for my 30 year old Bogen 3001 (which has served me well and still works) that would be lighter weight and folded shorter for easier carrying. The Mactrem CT62A meets those wishes. It weighs about 3 lbs vs almost 5 lbs for the Bogen and folds to about 18 inches vs 23.5 for the Bogen. And as a bonus the Mactrem is taller even without extending the center column and includes a detachable monopod. I did not expect the Mactrem to be as sturdy as the Bogen and it is not...thinner legs, 4 sections vs 3, and a much lighter hub where the legs attach. But it is fine for the camera I use now, a Panasonic G85.The head was a disappointment. It looks nice, well machined etc., but the ball was not smooth operating, the drag control (second knob) only acted as an additional brake, and the pan was so damped that panning the camera simply unscrewed the camera attaching plate from the camera.I have never been a fan of the Arca Swiss plate system but would have accepted that if the rest of the head worked properly. I have always felt the Boegn/Manfrotto quick release system was more secure and much faster to use. So I tried my Bogen head on the Mactrem tripod and although it worked it was still way too heavy and top heavy. I have now replaced the Mactrem head with one from Ulanzi with their "Claw" quick release system and that works great with no weight penalty.I have not used this combo much yet but it feels like a good fit for what I want. I doubt it will last 30 years like my Bogen has, but then I probably won't last that long either!Even with having to replace the head it seems like a good value.
