I just received the JSToon NV Binoculars this afternoon and went through the menu making various settings. I set the Night Vision level to Low planning to increase it as needed. The manual is very nice, easy to read and understand. I had to wait until 9 pm before it was dark enough to test the NV. Wow! I was very surprised! Even with the IR set to 1, and NV sensitivity to Low, everthing was much brighter than I expected and I see no reason to increase it for now. Perhaps later on, at greater distances.The six buttons fall naturally under the fingers and are easy to operate without looking, which you can't do in the dark anyway. But I quickly learned.I powered it with 6 Kentli rechargeable Lithium 1.5v AA's. These batteries hold a solid 1.5 volt output until discharged, then turn off. Be sure to only use the Kentli charger. A Kensington 32 Gb Micro SD card was supplied and installed. I felt assured that if they supplied a good quality SD card like this, the rest of the unit was equally good quality. I like the nice form fitted case, should protect the binocs well.Overall, I'm very happy with this unit.

These binoculars are wonderful. I have not experienced any quality/collimation problems with mine (Bought January 2010). Was tracking high altitude fighter jets practicing dogfighting over the city last night. These are excellent for looking at the moon, The Pleiades, and other distant objects. They are much more practical than my telescope for away from home use. They get used a lot because they are cheap, mobile, and work well. If they break or get lost I'll just buy a new pair, which I can't say about the telescope.Thought I could use these with just a pair of steady hands. The other reviewers are right in that I did need to order a tripod. You can steady your arms against something, like a tree, and get a stable view for a few minutes. If you are going to be out looking for more than 5-10 minutes you will most definitely want a tripod. It's not just the stability either. Your forearms may go numb after about 10-15 minutes, especially if you are wearing a heavy winter coat. If you don't already have one save yourself some time, and maybe some shipping costs, and just order the tripod at the same time.

First off, I have never owned a pair of night vision goggles but I have shopped around for months . Reading reviews, watch youtube videos and googling the best night vision binoculars around $200. Well after so long of I finally made my mind up and bought these. Everything looked exceptional in every category/place I reviewed these on. I have only had these bad boys two days but they are ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! I'm in wow on how pain you can see at night and the beautiful daytime pictures you can see! I live about 100 yards from a graveyard and I can look over during day or night and see everything just as if I was standing beside it. I am do glad I made the decision to buy these instead of anything else I researched. These are well worth the money and it comes with a nice case, strap for your neck and memory card! Cant beat it. I'm a person that is a bit frugal with certain things that I do not have to have but I would take that chance with these if for any reason you are on the fence about it. You can always return!
