Bought this camera for our sons Skype, hes at Fort Bragg in the Army. We have same one at our home and the built-in one with his computer was terrible. Now we can see and hear each other fine. Only complaint is price went up from 6 months ago, but still reasonable.

This is the greatest! The install is EASY. The picture is great. Works perfectly with Skype.I did not install the internal "video phone", just Skype. It immediately connected.For $25, it is a steal!!!!Great picture and sound. Comes with microphone. Everything is included.

We bought this camera to skype relatives who live far away. They are amazed at the quality of the video they see and say it is just like watching television. Our kids also enjoy playing with the extra features that let you wear a crown while talking or be a shark with a moving mouth, etc. For some reason these extra features don't work well with our 9-year-old daughter. The computer doesn't recognize her face as well. They work great with our 11-year-old son and adults.My only real complaint with the camera was that it took a long time to install. I had to uninstall and reinstall to get it to work. You really have to make sure that ALL other programs are not running. I know we're supposed to do that anyway, but these days, most programs install just fine with a few things running in the background. This didn't.An issue that is not a problem with the microphone, but an issue with Skype is that if you use other microphones with your computer with other programs (language learning, etc.) you need to make sure to reselect the camera's microphone whenever you Skype. Maybe there's a way to have Skype automatically pick the microphone you want, but I haven't found the setting yet.The packaging on the camera/microphone states that the quality of the video/sound the other party receives when you send it depends on the speed and qulaity of their computer as well as the speed/quality of your computer. That makes sense. All I can say is that others have reported the quality to be amazing. I don't know what kind of system they have. I know ours is pretty fast and was built for gaming and video applications.I would have given the camera 5 stars if it had been easier to install and the extra features worked better.

I am a professional photographer so I am used to use professional equipment but I do like to have a simple solution for video blog and skype chats. This Logitech C270 camera meets that kind of requirement very well. It produces reasonably bright image without requiring perfect lighting, and the quality is good enough for this kind of consumer uses. I'm actually using it with MacPro and MacOS 10.6.8, which is officially not supported. But it just works as a basic webcam with skype, and photobooth program works as well. The microphone built into the camera is also usable in MacOS. I didn't install any driver or did any special configuration for this. However, the audio quality of the microphone is only so-so. Headset is much better. But that's because of the distance from the mouth to the mic, and not the quality issue.

Excellent camera and microphone. Works extremely well for Skype, which is the use we got it for. Clear crisp picture which compensates very well for lighting conditions.

Good bang for the buck. We attached this to the top of our living room TV that's connected to our home theater PC. We use it mostly to Skype so the grandparents can watch their grandkids run around. The only complaint we have is that the focus doesn't seem to always work great. That's mostly coming from grandparents over Skype, so it's probably more a Skype issue than a hardware issue.

The best webcam out there, period. Came out 5 years ago and yet there are still no substitutes for this excellent webcam.Will handily beat and run circles around whatever camera setup that your brand new laptop came with.Excellent for Skype calls or interviews.The on-board microphone is not the best when compared to a dedicated mic but it will still be better than the default microphone setup of your laptop.The Logitech webcam software compliments the device really well.I use it mainly for Skype conversations and the people on the other end can see and hear me clearly.
