Great entry level tripod for the price.
This has been a great entry level tripod. It’s quite sturdy For how light it is. Customer service is excellent if you ever need to contact them. I lost a little piece while out in the woods and I contacted the company. They immediately told me they were sending out a replacement.

Great Entry Level Tripod
At this price point, this tripod works great. It is a bit heavier than expected, but this contributes to the stability. The motion isn't so smooth but this tripod doesn't have a fluid head. I don't use this for the cellphone so I can't say how the included bracket works. I would rather have an extra camera mount. The reason this gets only four stars is the support brackets to each leg kind of hinder the tripod's ability to be used on anything but flat surfaces, but I'm still learning to adapt.

Solid entry level tripod

I was very impressed with this tripod when I first started using it. Definitely has some heft to it, but it is solid when set up and you don’t have to worry about it wobbling around. Love the flip locks on the leg extensions, as it makes it super easy to raise and lower the tripod on your own.The tripod fluid head was very smooth panning and tilting and I did not have any issues with jitter in my footage. That being said, a big thing missing from this tripod head is drag control which is necessary to balance your camera properly on it. If you’re just starting out, this is not such a big issue, but as you progress in your skills, you’re going to want to upgrade to a tripod that has that. Also the weight of the tripod itself can be an issue if you are doing a lot of moving around, but if you are in the studio or doing a lot of interviews, it’s not a big deal. All in all, I would definitely recommend this if you’re upgrading from a cheap plastic tripod, are just starting out, or need a secondary back up tripod.

a good consumer level / entry level tripod
If you do not know the difference between consumer, prosumer, and professional photography equipment, then this is a good tripod for you. I don't meant that in a demeaning way, but simply as the most efficient way to determine your level of equipment needs. This tripod will be able to service the standard consumer level cameras like the Canon Rebel series quite well, however, if you DO know the difference between consumer/prosumer, please read on.If you are someone who is transitioning into prosumer gear, I would warn that this tripod is what I would consider to be at the bottom end of acceptable gear for prosumer equipment. As a good reference that many would understand ; I do not believe you can achieve a stable image with this tripod at full extension if you had a camera with a 70-200 f2.8 lens mounted on it - at least no better than if you hand held with image stabilization. The tripod uses many segments to achieve the portability, and the reported height capability. personally, i would consider the last 10" to be unusable due to the 1/2" diameter legs that are quite weak and prone to movement. even the maximum tube thickness is only 1" thick. I think while it CAN reach 59" in height, I would put the true OPERATIONAL height at more like 48".there are times where a picture is worth a thousand words, and this may be one of them in some regards. I have included a few photos of my pro-level carbon fiber tripod in a side by side comparison. Obviously these are not equal, and the opteka makes no claims toward pro-level equipment, but it's important to be able to see how thin/small the opteka parts are.in summary, this has a lot of nice features and functions that all work well, as long as you're using them to support something that's light weight, like an entry level DSLR, or a mirrorless DSLR with a short lens. However, if you're looking at this as a potential bridging equipment that will take you from consumer to prosumer level, I would suggest seeking out something a bit more sturdy.
