I've had great success with WD hard drives, but I have noticed some people are confused why there is "less memory" on the drives than advertised. This is not the case. Humans go by powers of 10 (10, 100, 1,000, 10,000, etc). Computers go by powers of 2 (2, 4, 8, 16, 32, 64, etc). What is going on is external storage drives are advertised in a power of 10. Therefore, a computer will always show a smaller memory amount, because it measures storage capacity in a power of 2. So for an advertised storage capacity of 1 Terabyte (TB):1 TB = 10^12 or 1,000,000,000,000 for human measurement1 TB = 2^40 or 1,099,511,627,776 for computer measurementTherefore, the advertised storage capacity is 90.94947% of a computer's representation of a terabyte.Converting this to Gigabytes (GB), the computer will display a storage capacity of 931.32257 GB, which is indeed the advertised storage capacity. Not sure why companies do this, but this is the reality of it.

Memory Capacity
An amazing purchase! I struggled to maintain memory on my PS4 for games. With this external hardrive, you just plug in the usb and follow a couple prompts and your memory quadruples. Now I don’t ever have to worry about deleting a game to download a new one. And download times are much faster.
