This was truly plug and play. No formatting needed for PC, can't speak for other platforms. Plugged it in and easily transferred my data from my dying drive. This is extremely small for it storage size and is easy to place out of the way. I now have more backup capacity than I will need in a long time.

Plug & Play
I bought this so I could use 2 monitors. My computer has two ports - one standard vga and one hdmi. I was able to use the hdmi port with this adapter. Works perfectly. Very happy with the purchase.

Got a new computer and my older name brand webcam would no longer work no matter what I tried. Needed the webcam for telehealth visits with my doctors. All I had to do with this is plug it in and it worked great immediately. Seems to be good quality picture.

Simple to use. Plugged this 2tb back up drive into the USB port. The computer recognized it immediately and it worked seamlessly.
