The reason i gave this microphone [from amazon] 5 stars is it's ability to be a Swiss Army knife in application. The inexpensive price and 1/4 in plug would tell you right away this is NOT to be used for primary vocals of a professional nature. BUT for recording family events or doing less formal get togethers where you might want to sing thru a guitar amp, rehearsals, an old PA system, setting up a child's Karaoke etc it does what you want with minimal fuss. You could use a 1/4 to 1/8 adapter to increase it's flexability. It is an ideal microphone for when a XLR set up is not supported or necessary. And young kids love them. 5 stars

Could be better. Could be worse but for what I need it for the price was right and it works good.
