Astonishingly good design and craftsmanship
Incredible well done and useful.The photo for the product here on Amazon was almost too perfect and made me suspect it was a CAD rendering. But no, the ST-27 really looks beyond-gorgeous, is sturdy, easy to use, and functional.I’m a senior mechanical engineer and my son in law is a machinist. We’ve both been “Ooing” and “Aaahhing” over how they made this (nearly) all-aluminum device.The product description here on Amazon is a bit nebulous as to how, exactly, it works. But the magenta knob locks the spring-loaded jaw so it can’t spring open after clamping down on your phone. The knurled collar unlocks the swivel action, which isn’t a 90-degree turn and is actually an infinite-degree, fluid-filled free rotation with ball-detent spots at the quarter-turn positions, which is very nice.

It's substantial
It's a solid piece of aluminum and seems to hold the phone fine. Much better than others I've tried. Would buy another
