It looks very versatile. I tape auditions, and I needed something that I could make work on my uneven flooring, plus I am hopeful that I can either change the head out to a fluid head or loosen it enough to make it into a fluid head.

It has a clean, simple design, and all components work as they should. Things that are meant to slide, do so with expected fluidity. Things that rotate are even more fluid (pan and tilt of the fluid head). Knobs turn and latches snap into place - locking solidly.As mentioned, the fluid head is truly fluid. It doesn't stick and then suddenly slide like some cheaper fluid heads. It is counterbalanced with a spring, which means that the further off-level you go, the more force the spring exerts toward the level position. In case you don't know why that's good, it's because heavy cameras won't tip and then fall away from the level position, possibly causes damage from the shock when maximum tilt is reached.It's curious that the legs have a bubble level. That seems unnecessary but it certainly doesn't hurt. The fluid head has a bubble level, and that's the one that really matters.One thing I find very convenient is that many of the important screws on this tripod accept a hex wrench. A properly sized hex wrench is held magnetically in the quick release plate. I love not having to bring along my own screwdriver or coin.I also like that the tripod packs away into a tough, padded case that is only about 23 inches long. My other dedicated video tripod doesn't break down quite as compactly as this one. The tripod that easiest for you to carry is usually the one that gets used most.I can recommend this tripod with no reservations.

The fluid head works good. If you have it at full higher it could stand to be a little more sturdy

I love the Geekoto CF tripod. I figured I'll give this one a try. It never disappoint. A little on the heavy side. But it's expected because of the material. The fluid head is great. A little tight. So it take a little getting used to.
