Started off OK but . . .
This seemed like a bargain and led by many good reviews, I decided to take a chance on it. However, after a couple of years very intermittent use, the damped action occasionally fails and the head rotates with no friction at all. A bit disconcerting with an expensive camera attached! Also, one of the leg sections has become so stiff that it's difficult to collapse for packing. I guess this just goes to prove the od saying that you get what you pay for!

Great native RF lens
I love this lens and it pretty much stays attached to my EOS R about 90% of the time. Very sharp photos, good contrast, and the macro ability is really nice to have. I also shoot a lot of video and the IS is great for that (between the IS and moderate digital IS, the video is very stable). If this is the level of quality we can come to expect for the “budget friendly” RF glass, I’m excited to try out the other non-L offerings. Definitely a no-brainer if you’re tired of using adapters.

Great Accuracy and Clear Lens
Unfortunately it was operator error in the beginning for me when I first got this device. All my friends rangefinder’s are push down and hold until the reading appears. With this rangefinder you just turn the dial on the eyepiece to get a crystal clear view then tap the power button once while pointing it at the target. It’ll vibrate and give a very accurate reading. Make sure not to test the device through glass windows or your golf cart windshield. The laser will not work though either and give you a very inaccurate reading. Very pleased with the quality for the price. Would buy it again if it were ever lost or stolen.

Great first prime lens
Anyone who wants to get into photography should get this lens. It's great for portraits and can really make your shots look good. Probably a little for landscape photography, I've been able to get some nice shots of my city's downtown. The focus is a little slow, but not a deal-breaker considering the price. Bokeh shots also look great on Instagram, and your friends will definitely appreciate the shots you'll get on them.

I really like this lens!
I haven't done Macro since the 70s. Back then we used bellows to get close. Times sure have changed. This lens is the best. You can read a million reviews on google, and watch tons of videos on youtube, but until you try it for yourself you will not appreciate it. These three pictures I took on the first two days I had the lens. There is much to learn, but when you can get photos like these right away the possibilities are endless. In most reviews the complaints suggest slow focusing. Well, if you are in a hurry you shouldn't be doing Macro. I don't find it annoying in the least. I have done a few portrait and landscape photos just to try it and find it to be excellent. The edge to edge clarity is impressive. I had been waiting to buy one, and when the $100.00 off sale hit I couldn't resist. Perfect timing as well as the bugs are really out now.

A handy lens for packing light.
Sharp and contrasty. Can't complain about focusing. The only thing that I didn't realize is that the manual focusing isn't really manual, it's really a manual motor drive via the ring as there isn't a mechanical connection between the ring and the focusing mechanism. I'll mostly use autofocus so not a huge issue.
