Not a true ND400 filter
I bought this for an semi-wide angle (18-55mm zoom). It works great till max. If you hit max (which is at the A on MAX) It does the X'ing. 90% of the frame is "x" till about 35mm..It does well up until last dot (last position before MAX).If you need ND400 or higher, just get a fixed stop ND and stack if you can wide enough.
