Excellent 4K quality (Sony sensor) at an affordabl
I came up on the original Yi after playing around with my brother's GoPro and started looking at action cams. Since the original Yi was a lot cheaper and had rave reviews I gave it a try. I was definitely not disappointed with the performance of the original Yi, so when I was looking into cheap 4K options, I came up on the newer Yi 4K and knew I had to give it a try. There are already a bunch of reviews on here and on YouTube so I'll keep it as short and simple with my opinions.4K quality is awesome, and if you're able to take advantage of it by having a 4K monitor and having a PC capable of editing 4K video, it'll leave a smile on your face. Even if you only shoot at 1080p, the Yi 4K has image stabilization which works extremely well (please be aware that this is not available in 4K mode) and it's up to you if it's worth the extra price over the original Yi. Personally, I use a gyro stabilizer and use it in 4K mode and the overall quality always impresses. The added screen is a godsend in framing up shots without the use of a smartphone app (which you can still do if you'd like) and having it be touch screen makes adjusting settings and viewing quick and easy. I was a bit wary on the user interface of the touch screen since a lot of cheaper offerings are not intuitive. However, touch controls are extremely responsive with easy swiping to scroll just like on smartphones. One feature I particularly liked was in the time-lapse mode where you can set a timer and choose how long you want your finished time-lapse video to be (you can manually do it as well). It was a nice touch to set it up in this way where you didn't need to calculate the actual time you needed to capture.Battery life is extremely good and I have averaged about 1h and 45m on a single charge which is impressive. You can capture plenty of footage without worrying too much about battery life.If you intend to use 4K, microSD cards rated at U3 are highly recommended due to the large amount of data. However, I did try my PNY 128GB U1 microSD cards and they've worked well. Mind you, I haven't really tested high detail, fast moving shots so I can't comment on how well it'll hold up to that kind of large amount of data yet. If you want peace of mind, definitely get U3 rated cards. The 128GB showed that I was able to capture just over 4 hours of 4K video so a cheaper 64GB should offer up to 2 hours and be plenty for a day's worth. All in all, Yi has definitely pushed the bar in providing awesome products that compete with the GoPro monopoly of action cams. It features solid hardware in the Sony sensor and Ambarella processor and the quality at this price point is impressive. if you're looking for an alternative to the GoPro, this is definitely an action cam you'll want to check out.

Little bit over priced!
This is my first action camera. I had a few Canons and Sony cameras before but those were either handhelds or DSLRs. The only negative thing I can say about this camera is the touch screen. My first touch screen phone 10 years ago had better response than this. Overall the camera is great. I haven't had a chance yet to try it under water but so far I'm pleased with it,

Great little trail camera - Eats batteries like cr
My experience with trail camera's is about as limited as you can be, since this is my second one. The sirens song for me was the fact that it comes with a Leica M6 Solution & Sony Sensor as its image hardware and software system. Try as I might, and I tried mightily to do my research both before and after purchase, I could not find out enough information about what their sales pitch was all about. Sony sensors are it seems the industry standard in where the vast bulk of trail camera's are made. It makes sense to me. Sony is the modern equivalent of Kodak in America back in the day. I own a SONY bridge camera, in fact on my second one. I like and trust Sony optics but lenses are part of the equation here. The Leica M6 solution partly sounded great. Leica M6 is a now dated 2009 camera and with it the technology very superior to anything I have ever owned and currently the price for a used M6 will run you between 1,000-1,800 or more American. That being said, I had high hopes for the combination in terms of its optics and processing images.Initially I was impressed with the color depth which is not surprising my Sony bridge camera has very good bit depth or color vibrancy due to the way the camera processes the image to increase its number of pixels. This is called interpolation, and is a common way cameras of all types increase the number of MP from the base line of the sensor to something demonstrably large. The Sony sensor is a 5MP sensor, which is about average for game camera from what I have read. At least at the price point I am reviewing. Anything over 5 MP is interpolated which means the software inside the camera takes the individual pixels and replicates duplicate pixels around the original one thereby increasing the image size from 5 MP to 8 or 16MP. The software in the camera may shade the additional pixels in the final product and increase the bit depth to make the photo look more vibrant. That is why the manufacturer usually gives options above the native 5MP, and may or may not advertise that the sensor size is so small. It seems in a perfect world 16MP would be a 16MP sensor. In this case it is not true.Impressive if not overly intense greens and vibrant blues. The colors while vibrant were a bit more vibrant then the actually subjects. However the clarity of the stills really is where this Game Camera shine to a point. There is a sweet spot where the subject is in focus, the ambient light is just right, and the shudder speed is spot on. Compared to my previous game camera there is not contest, hands down this one is the winner between them in that department.I have used this camera at a feeding station both day and night in three locations. The night shots, while I used the lowest IR setting and used various other settings to optimize image quality. There is an easy menu to navigate and changing settings is a snap. However for my applications which has been mostly seeing game or birds, or anything else that walks into view, this camera worked alright, but was easily tripped by the sensor which most of the time did not have anything in frame. That's ok, luck of the draw.In closing the final issue was with battery life and trip failure, combined with light pulsing during IR video's. At a little over half power the pulsing IR light was distracting to the point I felt like the camera was going to stop working. I contacted customer service through this journey, and they were helpful but no clear solutions were found for the light issue except for maybe the game camera being too close to a wall.Bottom line for me was that the colors were overly brilliant and unrealistic for the application I was using it for, and the battery life was half of what I expected it would be. I can see going through batteries like they are going out of style.I suspect if the Winghome 630M Game Camera was set up at a feeding station or near a watering hole or still pond, I would do a spectacular job with crisp enough images and have some of the best optics I have seen in a game camera. However because the sensor is so sensitive to movement even in the medium setting, and where I have placed it, it would never work due to traffic around my house, vegetation movement and wind.

Low light with a web interface
This may the only currently available exterior IP camera that has a modern web interface and uses the Sony Starvis back-illuminated low light sensor. The images are excellent, and in ambient nighttime lighting without infrared it works quite well. The web interface runs in recent Chrome browsers, on Linux too, no old obsolete IE Windows-only requirement here. It has weather-proof housing, uses POE, and with this nice browser interface and a fine sensor, it has all we need at a very reasonable price.

Wonderful camera and at a great price
Rather impressed with this little camera. I wanted the GoPro, but was afraid that an expensive camera would get lost at the bottom of the ocean like my last camera, so I wanted something that was less expensive that would still deliver a decent picture. This camera has a Sony 12mp sensor inside so that was a real selling point for me and the inclusion of a touch display on the back and the great video reviews that I have seen convinced to me purchase this little gem. SO far, I am really impressed.Glad I made the purchase.

This camera is the best! Amazing quality at a grea
This camera is the best! Amazing quality at a great price point. I've sold my go pro hero 4 black. I used this camera on a trip to cancun, and it was amazing! Still image quality is awesome. Video 1080 - 2.5k - 4k is amazing! Newer sony sensor than that of the gpro line makes for really great footage. The back lcd and UI are simple to use. I'm overly impressed with the yi4k. The wifi - to yi phone app makes transfering your files to phone hassle free and immediate. Hands down the best action cam I've owned.

Works great with my Sony Action Cam
Works great with my Sony Action Cam. Got a different arm for it for different scenarios. Rigid, doesn't move when set in position.
