Can’t see pics unless at same place on same WiFi.
I was standing 15 ft away and couldn’t get the WiFi to connect, it kept saying get closer. Why does it have WiFi if I have to be closer than 15 feet? That’s ridiculous....AND yes they were brand new batteries, I had just received the camera. Sent it back that afternoon.

It was easy to setup.
I really like this IP camera. It shows a great view and is very clear. The zoom goes a long way and it rotates perfectly. Great HD quality. I received great support from Kristy setting up the camera.

Fantastic Price, Lacks Key Features
This is the best price I have ever seen for a PZT Wifi Security camera. The 2K picture is more than adequate. This camera does ... to a degree ... work with Blue Iris. However, I can't at this time recommend it for that purpose. Here's why:1. No web-based configuration. You have to set up this camera from a proprietary smartphone app.2. You can't set a static IP in the camera itself. While you can set up a static IP on your router, not all routers support this feature, and I had a VERY hard time getting the IP to stick. On one Xfinity router, I couldn't' get it to work at all. This means that every time the DHCP IP changes on the camera, you have to change it in Blue Iris. This has caused 3 cameras to go offline at my boss's house, and I've had to go there each time to fix. I'll have to get him a better router or cameras that allow you to set a static IP on the camera.3. To save on some CPU, it is best practice to set Blue Iris to "encode direct to disk." But doing so on these cameras results in a black screen. You MUST reencode the footage, which is resource intensive.4. As far as I can tell, there is no way to remove the date/time from the top of the screen. I use Blue Iris's date time, so the proprietary one is redundant.5. So far I can't get the intercom feature to work from Blue Iris, only from the proprietary app.If you're going to use the proprietary software, you'll have no issues with this camera. But if you use Blue Iris, look elsewhere. I'm hoping the company will take this critique to heart and offer a firmware update.

So far so good. Need to test some more.
The IPcam can be setup with your router's security features such as WPA2, MAC filtering, port forwarding, IP filtering which block attempts by this camera from calling China or from China calling this camera even though its made in Mexico. Dont trust the camera's IP filtering feature. Dont register with Amcrest nor use their app nor their recommended easy setup procedure unless youre ok with China watching you. During the setup/configuration process temporarily disconnect internet from router. There appears to be built-in users that cant be deleted but as long as your router is blocking unauthorized comm it shouldnt matter. Its possible this IPcam might connect on its own to another WIFI network with open access in attempts to contact China. Good thing there are no other network in my area.I have yet to test WIFI range. Wish it had external antenna. Works with android tinyCam pro, IPCAM viewer and Chrome on the pc. Has a lot better features than Foscam.

Good for the price
I just received camera. Was looking for a budget version of the GoPro before i invest i actually invest in one. for the price it was a steal with all the accessories it comes with. Picture quality is good and so is video quality at 1080p 60fps. really don't have a need to use the 4k but it is there if needed. The WiFi option should be better. once connected you cant reconnect to your preferred WiFi. it will disconnect from the camera. only think i really see it being used for is to take a picture if you set the camera up somewhere since you can see it from your phone screen.

Great product, difficult to set up.
Very nice Camera, performs as expected. Only gave it 4 stars because setting it up to my wifi was a long challenge. Ended up having to call tech support, wait on hold for almost 40 minutes, then the text support guy ended up having to reconfigure the IP Address for each Camera. It should have to be that difficult in my opinion. However, once I got them connected and running I haven't had a single problem. Overall, I'm very happy with the product.

No app. No cloud. Just basic networking.
Sometimes it is hard to get simple. If you just want live view and video-clips of video in the view, this is your camera. If you don't want any of video of your house leaking outside of your local network, this is your camera. You don't have to configure port-forwarding for live view. Port-forwarding is requires only if you want to put your video on the internet, outside of your local network. You just need to have some basic networking. When you get your camera, plug it into power and plug in a rj-45 jack to your router. Get your login/password for your ROUTER (default values are usually printed on the bottom of the router, or in your router manual). Get into the router and determine the IP address for the camera. My camera showed-up as "AMC057AC_BD047E" (AM = Amcrest).Get the IP-address for the camera, and the MAC-ADDRESS if you can see it, you will need it later. The router probably gave you a DHCP address, meaning that the router might change your address sometimes. You can fix this later and change the IP-addresss to a STATIC address. Now open your browser and type or copy into the URL box with your IP-address (ex: 192.168.xxx.xxx). This will get you into the application in the camera (not on Amcrest's website). You will get a screen of the application that controls the camera. At the top, click on LIVE and you will have the live screen.A few instructions. Click on SETUP on the right-top, then NETWORK, then WIFI. (the menus are very slow. Don't start clicking other buttons. Wait) Here you tell the camera to use WIFI.Put a microSD card into the camera (on the bottom of the ball). Click SETUP / EVENT / VIDEO. Here you setup the clips when something moves in the camera's view.Go outside and walk around in the camera's view. Click PLAYBACK. On the right-top will be the clips. Click on the DOWN-ARROW, and the camera will download the clips to your computer.

Perfect Microscope
This item is amazing and exactly as described. For Apple users I offer this advice for connecting.Download Max-see app in iTunes. Click wifi and choose Max-see after the device is powered on.You will be disconnecting your current wifi and using the microscope thru wifi. Open the Max-see app (after device is powered on) and focus on water you want to see, it's on.After you turn your device off your wifi should default to it's regular connection. You must manually turn on the microscope in wifi every time you use it.
