Ok folks here's the deal. If you plan on using this in a vehicle buy the tablet socket for your device!! I started buying these years ago when I had the tiny galaxy s3. It worked great for the tiny phone. But with my note 8 even the older s5, you need the power of the larger magnet to keep your phone where it belongs. With the large magnet my phone will stay exactly where I put it no matter how I drive, how bumpy the road is or if I'm charging it vertically or horizontally. And the larger magnet is alot smaller than those stupid pop top stands people put on the back. My tablet socket that is currently on the otter box commuter case of my Galaxy note 8 is over 5 years old!! Its dinged and chipped and the silicone that helps keep the device in place is gouged in a few places and it still works perfectly! I buy new adhesive pads for the socket and the ball mount from time to time if I need to change cases or in my case 3 different vehicles. Guess what?! Still works!! For all the people complaining about it not sticking or not holding your phone properly please understand some things.. The 3M double sided patches are designed to stick to certain types of surfaces. I have screwed up a few times over the years trying to stick them to cases or car surfaces that weren't meant to be. Most car dashes are made of plastic or rubber materials and while you my not be able to see them they aren't perfectly flat or smooth. That's why your balls fall off!! Lol I've had to make adjustments to where I have installed things over the years but I've made it work!! There have been many phone cases ive bought and then didn't use because the tape wouldn't stick properly. Hard smooth plastics are the best cases to stick to. Won't stick to rubberized material. As for some other concerns. Heat and cold. I live in northwest Colorado. Winters can get -40 degrees and summers can have days over 100. Do you know how hot a car sitting in the sun when its 100 degrees out can get on the inside? I dont really know but probably as hot as satan's butt crack. I had the Steelie dash mount in my car for 3 years using the original sticker through the massive temperature swings I just mentioned. I'm sure in the south it can affect the adhesive more but you're talking months of 100+ degree weather. Follow the instructions on mounting and everything will be gravy. 99% of the time failure is operator error. I've had my share of failing when I first started using this product. There was some trial and error. But in the end this is by far the best, in my opinion, dash mounting system there is. I have a Galaxy note 8 and yes, I cant use the pen with the case on. I dont care I rarely use the pen and if I need to I pop it out of the case for a few minutes. The large magnet is incredibly strong!! I use it daily for things. My favorite is sticking it to the range hood over my stove while watching cooking videos. I am going to purchase the window mount next week. I am a commercial driver and drive busses for a living. I plan on having one mounted permanently in my assigned 45 ft MCI coach and one for my bag to swap between shared city buses. First time buying/using a wheel absolutely love it even though it’s gonna take some getting used to nothing can beat it now all I nedd to do is get the wheel stand pro for it and I’m all set playing Forza and nfs heat

Update****** they made it right! Thank you for sending replacement.It worked great at first but after a month the phone no longer stays upright. The mount isn't tight anymore and the phone falls frequently.
