Just rented this movie... big mistake. I should have bought it. Actually I will. I didn’t hear much about this while in theatres. All the buzz once released sparked my interest. 5 stars... would give it 10 if that was an option.

Fun. Energetic. Lots of opportunities to overcome the odds. Family friendly (except for the abundance of cleavage on the beareded lady) Finally a story where he turns away from temptation and toward what matters.

Wonderful. Just wonderful. Sets, costumes, dancing, stars! As good as a musical gets. And so touching it brought tears to my eyes. This is moviemaking the way it’s supposed to be done. Children today haven’t seen a film like this - so much talent. Like the dircus - it’s big and outrageous. Highly recommend you sit down with your kids, make them turn off their phones, and watch this together.

The Good:- Cast and acting is fantastic- Singing is great- Great story of acceptance and redemption but in an uplifting wayThe Bad:- Doesn’t necessarily stay true to actual Barnum story but the movie isn’t a documentaryThe Bottom Line:Overall, a great movie with a good cast and great acting. Hugh Jackman was flawless and Zac Efron gives a memorable performance. The movie has a great story in this day about acceptance of different genders and types of people. It also is a story about failing and bringing yourself back. I did take off 1 star because evidently the movie is not that true to the actual Barnum story. However this is still one of the best musical movies I’ve seen and highly recommend!

This movie seriously endangered my happy marriage, because after we finished this delightfully infectious modern musical with elegant touches of Old Hollywood Glamour, I insisted we watch it again, and again, and again ... It's been eight days since we purchased this movie and I Cannot Stop Singing. I know every part of every song by heart, and Alexa is sick of hearing "play Greatest Showman ... loop this" every morning before I even get out of bed. I recommend buying the soundtrack as well, there are some nicely-done variations in the "radio versions" -- but don't worry! They stay true to the movie, and you might not notice the tiny changes until the 12th listen. And ... Where has Keala Settle BEEN all of our lives? She almost steals the show from Hugh Jackman, which is amazing because he is the most talented man in the universe. Another beautifully-executed part of this movie is the editing ...watch it again and watch the absolutely beautiful blends between reality and fantasy/dream scenes. The sound engineers' work with the soundtrack and the choreography takes sound and music in a movie to a new level. Random tiny moments like the staccato tapping with props for emphasis in "The Other Side" are visionary and the timing is absolute perfection. PLEASE, Hollywood, more of this kind of movie! It leaves me happy and itching to DANCE every time I watch it. Best Movie Ever.

Absolutely love this it's not just a musical. Its a wonderful story. Truly a masterpiece. Loved it loved it.
