I bought the AKASO V50X action camera with the expectation of using as an entry level GoPro replacement. I will say the does the job well and adequately. I also used it as an impromptu web cam, and I would only recommend using it as a webcam in an emergency and not as a primary webcam.It's main features are adequate and if there is any department where it is lacking, it would be the software. It does not have a dedicated smartphone app like GoPro. Instead it uses a random dashcam app that connects to the Action cam and offers a very limited amount of options to control your action cam remotely.To actually use it as a webcam you must power it off, plug it into your computer, and select the webcam option from the pop-up menu. You are unable to change any settings in webcam mode so you can't adjust on the fly.All in all, if you are looking for an action cam that works and will give a very decent entry level experience, look no further.P.S.
