The internal battery is a wonderful idea for one of these. Our power goes out all the time, and it'll keep going, keeping our baby asleep. Super handy.

One alkaline battery is 1.5V.When using a brand new 8 alkaline AA batteries, when the voltage is higher than 6V, the camera will use AA batteries.As the battery power decreases, the camera will use an external power supply when it is below 6V.When the external power supply has no power, the camera will continue to work with the remaining power of the AA battery until it is completely out of power and shuts down.Is the reason you say not to use rechargeables is because some of them are 1.2 volts? What about NiZn that are 1.6V?3. The camera is not recommended to use rechargeable batteries, because Rechargeable batteries don't pack the punch needed to keep more sensitive electronics working properly. NiZn's and NiMH's develop a memory after a few cycles and just don't hold voltage very well-especially in cold weather.But if you want to use a rechargeable battery, the camera can sometimes work normally, because I tested using a 1.2V rechargeable Ni-MH battery and the camera can work normally, But there is no guarantee that it will always work. If you use 1.6V rechargeable nickel-zinc battery, welcome to tell us the experience, so that we can better improve the product.

This camera is easy to setup and install. It does great in a thunderstorm and continues to broadcast pictures. The battery power makes it great to put anywhere.

I bought this to mount in our RV for videos on our travels. I was impressed by the quality and interface of the camera. Battery power and quality of video is very good.

Discrete, simple & easy to use. Good quality 720dpi still shots and video. Because it is used outdoors, there is more action that gets picked up causing more battery power consumption. Battery life could be better but we are still making adjustments which helps prolong power consumption. It would make a great indoors security camera since it is motion activated which saves power.

I was a little concerned about the battery life but decided to give this camera a chance. I've owned the camera for 11 months and I've only charged the battery one time. The motion detection turns the power on so it literally sleeps unless it senses motion. So battery life isn't a concern at all.

Bought camera for fishing and this does not require a waterproof case that muffles sound. Camera is small and compact. Battery life is not that great but if you have a constant power source, this thing is sweet for fishing paired with a YOLOTEK power pole
