Great little camera. I've had a couple of SJ4000 cameras and this one is as good. We also have a Hero Silver 4 and a Session 5 in the family. While this isn't GoPro it certainly is almost as good for a quarter off the price.

This is a great little camera for the money. The only negative thing are the instructions that are not very clear or organised

This camera is pretty cool for the price. If you go into knowing you aren't going to get crystal clear perfect photos, you will not be disappointed. Every time we used it we learned something new and kept saying "Wow, this thing is cool!". We captured a beautiful Colorado sunrise using the time lapse, used it capture fun family water time (photo used in review), and loved the little tripod and remote we could use to get family pictures with during vacation. Now, these pictures aren't able to blow up because of the pixilation but we knew that going into our trip so we took our DSLR. We did not use it for any action shots so I can't speak to that, but it comes with a ton of accessories including helmet mounts, water proof case, handle bar mount, tripod, etc. (Don't be stupid like me and try to record video with the water proof case on, it won't capture sound with it on).

I had been looking for a small camera that I could use as a dash cam. This one works great for that. It is small enough that I can carry it in my pocket, it is sturdy and charges fast. It was very easy to install, I used the velcro that was included, but I would probably buy a mount for it once it gets too hot in here. The video is very good quality and you are also able to see the lanes next to you. The only issue I have is that since I drive so much, it gets hot very fast, but I haven't had a problem with that yet. Since it is so compactm I would also use it when traveling.

This camera was great for me because I didn't want to spend the money for a Go Pro, but wanted something with similar functions that I could use outdoors and underwater to experiment with fun photos and videos in action. I love that for a low price it includes so many attachments so you can hook it up to your bike and helmet. It even comes with underwater cover and a selfie stick. My favourite part is how easy it is to learn to use it. It took me 5 minutes.One thing I wasn't aware of is that the camera doesn't have any storage on it for test photos, so when I got it I realized I had to buy a memory card so I couldn't test it right away, but maybe that was expected. The only other downside was that flipping through functions and viewing photos, there's a slight lag after pressing the button and when the change happens, but again for this price I cannot complain. The camera has been great so far, and I'm really excited to use it in summer activies like hiking and water sports.

I am using this primarily as a dash cam, but I can see tons of other uses for it. At the sacrifice of a built-in video screen, it is extremely small, which means it is very discrete and portable. The cost is not unreasonable, but if you want to get the most out of this, you'll need to spend a few minutes doing some basic research and downloads.As delivered, my package had nothing but the camera and a tripod mount sled (not the actual tripod), so find the documentation and scan thru it. Operationally, there are only a few buttons and really, the only button I find necessary is the power on/off. While downloading the documentation, download the GUI configuration program, mSetup. This checks for (and installs) new firmware, but out of the box, there were a few tweaks I found helpful.There are two video "modes", but they seem to be basically profiles. You can e.g. set one mode to do high rez and high frame rate, and then the other mode to do low rez and frame rates. Using the config program allows you to chose the default mode. Things I like to set were the power on auto-record. If you're using this as a dash cam/DVR, set the loop recording "on" (it's off by default) and an appropriate clip length; I used 5 minutes. I have a 16gb microSD card, so I turned the frame rate from the default 60fps to 30fps. You can even enable or disable the recording status LEDs.There is no real mounting system other than some Velcro, so at first I tried it on my dashboard, but all I got was some nice video of my windshield wipers. I mentioned above that it comes with a tripod sled, so I got a really nice visor mount and this makes it quick and easy to pull off when I'm leaving the car.The battery lasts long enough for me to get to work and home again, so at least an hour. I haven't used a USB car charger with it yet, but I see no reason why it wouldn't work.With no built-in screen, it'll take a little bit of practice aiming it. Unfortunately, that means sticking in the car, recording for a few minutes, then connecting it to a PC or a laptop. But it's a short learning curve, once or twice should nail your preference.
