It worked!! :-D
I keep having to do recorded speeches for my homework assignments (my program is strictly online), so I need to be heard clearly to qualify for full credit. Problem is, I have an ittty bitty voice. Laptop controls don’t help my volume. Desktop makes me sound tinny. Lapel mic made me sound distant, but clear. This latest assignment was worth a lot of points and I needed a mic fast (within hours) since the lapel mic didn’t work out and I got the due date of the assignment wrong. This mic was $19 and arrived in maybe 5-7 hours I think. I wished it came in multiple light color options (I like all my gadgets to coordinate), but whatever. Did it work? After grinding out the PowerPoint, I plugged it in and spent a couple minutes reading through manual. Setup the mic in my settings per the manual and hit record… and it worked! I was actually able to record me at a louder volume! And here’s the crazy thing. I have a neighbor who blasts his radio all afternoon to evening and there was nowhere in my house I could’ve blocked out his music. I hoped he didn’t play any MGK, Metallica, or 2Live Crew. It was just smooth sounds so far. Maybe it would sound like background music. The mic didn’t even pick it up. I was congested and really self-conscious about my whistling nose. The mic didn’t pick it up. I kept having fo swallow to moisten my throat. The mic didn’t pick it up. Just me. Clear, smoothe, :-D and at a louder volume! I cannot recommend this microphone enough. I don’t know anything about professional mics and directions, dust covered, or whatnot, but if you need a great affordable mic that helps with low speaking volume and fast, this one…. THIS one.

Good solution to add a SPDIF out from computer
I purchased this to enable my new home theater PC (which did not come with an SPDIF out) to connect to an older Yamaha receiver which is not HDMI 2.1 compatible; so I was connecting my HDMI directly to my Epson projector, but had an issue is that Windows 10 only "sees" my audio source as stereo when connected to the projector. In order to get 5.1 sound, I needed a solution to extract the audio and send to my receiver.Initially I tried the Amazon Basics Audio Extractor, but because it does send a proper EDID message to my PC, the SPDIF would only output in stereo. So I got this external sound card to enable multi-channel audio for the SPDIF.Although the drivers on the Startech site do not list compatibility with Win10, that is the driver you need to use in order to support multi-channel output from the SPDIF.When you first connect to your windows 10 PC and it installs the default driver, it will be identified as only a stereo output. You need to install the CMedia drivers from the website (they only list win7, win8 compatibility but they work fine in Win10).Once you have done that, you will see the output is now listed as "multi-channel" digital output(FYI, SPDIF bandwidth only supports Dobly Digital and DTS)I am using Kodi as my home theater software, and I did need to go into the sound settings and ensure I chose 'audio passthrough' and that my receiver is DD and DTS capable. When completed, I confirmed that multi-channel encoded audio is passed directly through to the receiver, while regular stereo audio is processed by my receiver into 'faux' 7.1I am not using this for any of the analog functions, microphone input, etc. so I can't comment on that.Once I did that, it passes through Dolby DigitalIt's expensive to use for only that one feature, but because the low end audio extractors don't broadcast the proper EDID information, Win10 will only see multi-channel output from the SPDIF.

For the money I don't think it gets better than th
After using 7.1 headsets for gaming for 5 years I thought it was time to retire them and try something new. These headphones straight out of the box aren't that good for gaming. It's really hard to ping point enemies location, but-- with Dolby Atmos oh boy, thats a whole different story. Buy you will need time to adjust at the different sound of you come from a 7.1 headset. The mic is ok-- not bad but no extremely good either. One thing I didn't like in my personal preference is the volume dial feel REALLY cheap and the 'right' and 'left' plaques throwing out the good sleek aesthetic of this headset. Also, the mic is too BIG and gets on my FOV too much. But again-- you jave to sacrifice something to get something this cheap. NUBWO did a grat job and I would love to see what they could do with a if they were to build a high end headset.Edit: I had these headset for a few months now. For gaming the audio is not bad but you will need to get Dolby or DTS services. In the other hand, on my laptop the mic doesn't work at all. Audio come out but the microphone just doesn't get recognized on my laptop. Tried getting in contact with the Nubwo support they replied to me once and then never got to me back again. Just be careful of you thinking about getting these headset for video conference.Edit: (One year review) I might been a little bit hard by giving this product a 1 start at my second edit BUT I still been using these headsets though. For 25$ these headsets compete with previous 100$+ headsets I had in the past. It really can not get any better than this. If you buy these for gaming you will have no issues at all. Audio come out clean trough the mic, audio is come clean trough the speaker. And with dolby atmos it just a 300+ but at 25+ I truly had not idea how they can sell at this price. Awesome headeset.

A super easy way for stability.
It may be difficult to see from the photos, but I have this mounted on a shoulder support that goes over one shoulder and the lower arm rests upon your belly area which makes for outstanding stability..... (Which can also be found here for sale on Amazon). The shoulder support was very hard and uncomfortable, so I attached a faux sheepskin cover and that really helped with the comfort issue. Once attached, this rig allows for amazing stability whether I am shooting live, or still shots. I would go as far to say that this has better stability and is easier to control than any of the gimbals that I have used in the past. Also, with the shoulder support, it allows me to not have to use the grip handles all of the time because I can hold onto the lower portion of the shoulder support that is lower and closer to my body and it gives me just as much control as if I am holding the grip handles....this also helps with fatigue, as it is not necessary for me to have my arms held up so high for extended periods of time. I have an iPhone in the pictures but am actually using the Galaxy note 9 for shooting. I wanted to use the galaxy for the photo review, so I couldn't do both at the same time as I was using it for the photos posted here...in the near future I will use the 1/4 inch connectors to add an led lamp, and external microphone. I will also be mounting a 3 way tripod head between the phone mount and the shoulder support to give me total flexibility with angles. I have a portable external battery backup that I can throw in my gear backpack which will charge my note 9 approximately 10 times without a recharge, so I will be able to shoot all day at outdoor concerts, events and festivals. While this setup won't be ideal for everyone, it suits my needs perfectly and I reccomend the mount for anyone that is looking for an easy way to add stability to their photo/video needs.

A solid entry-level speakerphone
The Poly Sync 20 measures 8.23" x 2.17" x 7.2" and weighs 1.12 pounds. The Poly Sync 20 has a 3-microphone array, connects via Bluetooth or a wired USB A/C connection, and has an IP64 rating for dust and water resistance.I used Poly Sync 20 with all sorts of devices from Android and Apple phones to computers running macOS and others using Windows 11. No matter which device I used I was able to get crisp clean audio for calls and a surprisingly good speaker as well. My biggest gripe with this Poly Sync 20 was its controls. Sometimes they worked, sometimes they didn't. Unlike the Poly Sync 20+ which predictably worked or didn't work based on whether I was using a Bluetooth adapter, the 20 models do not have the Bluetooth adapter. This means I never knew when the surface buttons would work. Sometimes they'd work when I used the permanently attached USB cable; at other times they wouldn't. What was consistent was I almost never had access to the surface buttons when connected via Bluetooth only. What I liked most about the Poly Sync 20 was:- Excellent mics- Surprisingly good as a standalone Bluetooth speaker- Highly portable thanks to accessories and IP64 ratingWhat I liked least about the Poly Sync 20 was:- Inconsistent button availabilityOverall, if you are looking for a nice entry-level speakerphone that is perfect for a small office or a home office then this Poly Sync 20 should be on your radar. The mics on this Poly Sync 20 are good and the sound this device reproduces is far better than expected. My biggest reservation with this device is its button inconsistency. Sometimes they work; sometimes they do not. I have experienced this inconsistency on multiple devices, with and without the poly lens software running, and across multiple operating systems. If you're deciding between the 20 and the 20+ I'd say the 20+ was more consistent due to the included Bluetooth adapter. That said, the sound of the Poly Sync 20 is good and as an entry-level purchase, you can't do much better for the price. 4.0 out of 5.0

Excellent value....good quality sound. Smaller foa
I purchased these Bluetooth earphones to use mostly with my iPad for language learning as my hearing isn’t good (I wear hearing aids for day to day tasks). They work very well indeed but I advise (when pairing them with a phone or iPad, etc.) that you keep them away from other Bluetooth equipped units until they’ve initially paired to the unit you’re using. On getting into my car the earphones paired immediately with my iPhone as soon as I out of range of my iPad. Two separate, faint to me, good standard English voices (one for each earphone) announce that the earphones are out of range/disconnected and the same voices announce successful pairing. They work very well indeed with my iPhone and the microphone is more than adequate for in-car hands-free use. After a week of using them I changed the original foam ear pads for the smaller sized pair of foam inserts that come with the earPhones. They now fit very well indeed and the audio quality is very good and the earPhones are secure. However (I’m a big chap with corresponding large ear canals) it would help if two more pairs of increasingly smaller foam inserts were provided, as I’ve bought another pair for a Christmas gift for my wife and , as she’s a very small lady, smaller diameter earphone foam inserts will probably be required for a comfortable fit in her ears. The carrying case/charger works very well too. It even indicates the battery charge state of the headphones. It means the headphones are always ready for use, provided you keep the box itself charged via the USB 5V lead that’s supplied. I have not yet had to recharge the carrying case but it’s designed to completely charge the headphones three times before recharging, which takes less than an hour I think. I don’t hesitate to recommend these little earphones, they are exceptionally good value for money.

It amplifies, but mine seems noisy
Maybe I got a dud, but my LVY preamp booster seems to have higher self-noise than it should. The input stage appears to be based on a popular cascode design often used in this style of inline-booster, so if one of those FETs has had a zap, it could have become noisy. I have not fully traced it out though, so don't take my word for it, but without further examination I'll give it some leeway when judging performance. From my experiments (admittedly not precise, and only using the console meters) I felt like I could get better performance by following a moderately low-noise preamp with a moderately low-noise line-amp, rather than putting this booster in front of the preamp. I first used an audio source to get a rough number for the amount of gain this provided, and then, testing both with audio and with the inputs shorted together, I felt like I could get consistently lower noise results for the same total amplification with different gain staging than with using the booster. At some point I'll try the tests again properly with digital level and noise metering, and also with a resistive shunt more in line with microphone output impedance. I only tried that one console so far, so I'm hoping to find some other weak point in the chain because these types of boosters can be very handy when they work well. The chassis build quality feels good (other than that the bracket and foam pad cause the feet to not actually touch the ground), and the circuit board didn't have any obvious faults or bad joints. For now, until I can verify it in a different system, I'm treating my unexpected outcome as the result of either an anomalous sample of the booster, or as of flawed hardware or methodology somewhere along the signal path. If you have a really noisy preamp that gets unusable at lower than expected gain settings, then yes, this would probably be a big help.

We've had this in our nursery since 2020 and just
As the title says, we've had this in our nursery for two years and have generally been quite pleased with it! We're obviously happy enough about it that we purchased a second camera for our toddler's room, and then an entirely new set (camera and monitor) for my in-law's place for when we go up there.Pros (including but not limited to):- this monitor is NOT on Wifi, so no one can hack into the stream and talk to your baby through the microphone (why are some people the way they are?! I digress). If you're like me and don't want a Wifi monitor, then this is a great option- for the price point, the camera quality (both day and night) is surprisingly decent- it can pan around most of the room- its "noise" setting has the option to be quite sensitive. I've always been able to hear my child making any sounds through the monitor -- even if they're just chatting or singing in their crib/bed. I like to be able to hear it all, just in case. Even so, there's a setting to change the sensitivity if you just want to hear crying for example and not all the chatter. I appreciate the flexibility this monitor offers- and then of course, the price-point. For what you're paying this absolutely does the trick. You can add additional cameras (as we have) and the monitor can bounce between the two as needed. It's great.Con:- it can be a bit glitchy. Every now and then (as in maybe once or twice a day) the camera and volume will pause for 1-3 seconds. This I guess is annoying? But nothing to write home over. Only one time have I needed to take a pin and insert it into the "reset" button on the monitor. But even then, the fact it has a reset button is great -- problem solved.I'd give this monitor 4 stars: I'm sure you could find a better (more expensive) one out there, but for this price, I think you're in the right place. We're happy with ours: two years, two kids, and counting!
