Great lock and easy installation. I definitely recommend. Just know that when you check to see if the handle works with the latch during installation that the keypad handle will not move the latch. Install it completely and then you will see the handle will work appropriately. It is automatically locked so until you have it completely installed and are able to unlock by the keypad pin you won’t see the latch move. However, the backside handle will move the latch during the installation process. I hope this helps.

I needed to buy this for my door as I keep locking myself out of the house !! It is great except I didn't pay attention to my latch positioning on my door. I have a 5 inch offset instead of 2 1/2 inch. Took some digging around, but, finally found 5 inch insert that would work. Now is OK

The lock worked fine for about 6 months, and then the latch mechanism seized up, requiring me to literally break my bedroom door down. The lock still functioned properly, but would not twist. The latch/bolt mechanism was completely stuck! Once I got into the room, after significant damage to the doorjamb and door, I removed the lock to find the bolt was completely stuck. Even removing it, oiling it, etc did nothing to free it up. It's as if a gear or something inside is broken. Luckily I'm fairly handy, and can repair my broken door jamb and trim, but I'm really disappointed that I had to resort to that.

I locked myself out not long ago and it cost wayyyyy too much for the locksmith to let me in. So I shopped for an electronic lock. I saw several I liked, but I read an online review comparing this model with several others. It was rated the best basic electronic lock. So I ordered it.It arrived promptly and I was ready to install, except my door uses a compression latch and note a faceplate latch. The package only came with a faceplate latch and it wasn't convertible like other manufactures do with their latches. Sooooo, I had to order the compression latch. I went to Kwikset and they said I needed a special one that wasn't available at AMAZON or on their own website. So, I looked for the next best thing, the KWIKSET 83371-001 83371 Drive in Latch. I ordered that, it matched up with the faceplate latch and I was happy.The latch and keyset work great together and now I can get in to my house, provided I don't forget my key or my code. I took one star off for not having the right latch and making me order a replacement.The coding is easy to do, just follow instructions. There are a couple of good instructional videos online to help. If you have a compression latch, just bang it out with a hammer and screwdriver and put in the new one. One thing I like about the electronic lock is that I can set up codes for delivery or maintence, then change them later one. IT accepts 8 different user codes. When I lock the door pressing the lock button, I need to pull the door towards the jamb since the weatherstripping won't let the latch line up with the receiver side. But that was how it was before I installed the upgrade. YMMV

Update 09/02/2018The camera is good quality and super clear but the case and specially the locking latch are very cheep and broke after a few days of using it

Matches original, but slightly different design. Works fine with original latch and handle.

 So far after handling it has a nice full size latch versus the small finger ones, multiple threaded mount locations, viewfinder, everything you want in a camera.
