It's an action camera and it does it well.
Shipped faster than Amazon estimated. Great packaging and everything works great so far. Gave battery life 4 stars as I haven't fully tested that yet. I wish It came with an SD card, but I had an extra so no big deal. Video quality is great, especially given the price! Can't wait to use it on the water to document my fishing adventures.

Nothing for a pro but certainly a great little camera for point and shooters.Quality pictures and the ability to do some manual adjustments.

Really like this camera
I upgraded from a simple point and shoot. Really like this camera. I do a lot of photography at races, air shows and some astrophotography. Found this camera meets all those demands. Battery life is great as well. I can easily make it through day long events, taking thousands of photos on a single charge. Great quality!

I love this camera
I love this camera!!! I have never had a nice camera before and I love this one! Perfect for beginners with DSLR cameras. I have had it for over a year now and I still love it and I use it to take pictures for myself, school, family, and friends.

Love this little camera
I have had this trusty little camera for a year now. This camera is what got me into doing what I love. Sadly, I will be upgrading to a full frame. If you are an amateur on a budget, this is a great find. Love my t3!

Excellent starter camera
This is my first DSLR, and I'm having a blast with it! Even just keeping it on auto mode takes much better pictures than I used to take. I'm slowly learning all the settings and this camera makes it easy to mess around with.

Excellent starter camera
When I got this camera I was a complete n00b to photography. However, this camera is very intuitive (I thought I was going to have to read the manual, but instead I just started using it and haven't had any questions yet). I love that you can use it in full manual mode, or fully automatic mode. It has excellent image processing, and I really like that it can save pictures in RAW format. The aesthetics aren't something to write home about, but for this kind of a price you can't expect everything to be perfect. As a hobbyist, I think this camera is going to last me a long time!

A Great Starter Camera
Being the photography editor for my collegiate newspaper, I'm always on the lookout for great camera, lens, and gear deals for the upcoming year. At the start of the new semester, I saw this on sale and knew it would be a great fit for our newsroom.PROS:It's really light. I'm used to hauling around big camera bodies with heavy lenses (ex. Canon 300mm f2.8 L). So when I tried this camera out for the first time, it was a little surprising. However, for someone not used to the world of DSLR's, this is a great starting weight. Light and compact, it still feels great in my hands. I have yet to have a complaint by any of my staff on its handling as well.Image quality. I was expecting image quality on this to be not as good due to its price. However, after using it in the field for the past 6 months, it's stood up to all of our other cameras in this area. Great color reproduction and color accuracy. This is actually our go to camera when we do last minute portraits of people in the newsroom. We have yet to have a bad performance from this guy. There's no fancy stuff. It's sort of weird to say this, but it is nice to use this camera once in a blue moon. Most cameras these days have so many features that sometimes the photography itself gets overshadowed. With this camera, it's bare bones basic, which means just you and picture. In a way, it's a good test on how good of a photographer you really are. Get a great picture on this camera and you can get a great picture on any camera.CONS:It's really light. This is also a bad thing. Being a collegiate newsroom, we have some high quality glass, which, more often than not, tends to be heavy. As a result, the weight distribution tends to be off. Now, most people buying this camera won't be using L series primes and f2.8 zoom lenses. However, it is something to be aware of.The screen. To be blunt, it's pretty bad. It's actually so laughably low-resolution that you can see the individual pixels. However, it does do its purpose. Colors are accurate and the screen has decent angles. This also makes the Live View function moot. Yes, you could use it. However, without a decent screen, Live View becomes a super low-res version of your final product. Despite this being aimed at first time users, I really do wish Canon put a more high-resolution screen on this. Being able to see a picture on a high-res screen just makes common sense. Not a deal breaker, but a missed opportunity.OVERALL:Just to make a point, I shot an entire NCAA Men's Soccer game on this camera. Was it wise to do that? No. It only has 3 frames per second, its ISO tops out at a usable 3200, and it's not weather resistant at any level. Are these qualities I look for in a newsroom worthy camera? Not really. However, it is a great starter camera for new photogs. My new staff members are out and about taking newspaper quality photos that's easy to use and learn on. The same can be said of the soccer game. When I showed the pictures I took to a staff member, he couldn't believe I used the T3. That's the point of this camera. It has just enough to instill the confidence in a user so that they'll get the shot. Your pictures won't be blurry, they won't be insanely dark, and they'll be cropped just right. Since buying this camera for our newsroom, I've recommended this camera to 2 photogs who have bought, and used, this camera to great success. I'll be looking forward to adding 2-3 more for our newsroom.
