hector at amcrest helped greatly to troubleshoot when there was an issue, camera was under warranty too. get the cloud service for your cameras and cover all angles. good picture quality, product material feels good quality but audio needs some improvement. otherwise 4 stars

The mic works great for recording audio to inlay with videos, so much nicer than using the on board audio from the cameras. I'll get a lot of use of the mic for years to come both with work and personal. Thanks!

Freezes up, crashes, stops recording video but the audio continues. These GoPro cameras are total garbage. This was my third version always hoping it would get better and it never did.Switched to Another brand on Amazon for $199

For the money, these are a hidden gem. I have had issues with more expensive plug and play usb cameras, especially with crackly audio and quality, settings, etc. - you name it. The audio and video are crystal clear on these, and at this price, it is a no-brainer. This was my 3rd wave of purchasing these, as these solved my issues. Truly plug and play, and the employee can easily get going, with no fuss and no special technical knowledge of Windows audio, etc. Will buy again and again. Thank you.

The sound and tone of the speaker is good. I do get occaisional static, but I think this due more to the audio quality of the download, not the speaker. The instructions are fair to good, but the troubleshooting section could be better. However they do provide a phone number for additional help.

I have 42 amcrest cameras setup across two NVRs and this is a great addition to the line-up. The video and audio is clear. Impressive night vision. I do pair it with a camect AI detection platform to alert setting but keep the Amcrest NVRs for recording at 4k.

I love these cameras! They were suggested to us from our cousin and I was really pleased by the picture quality for the price they are! I do wish we could see a little more range and the audio is a little bit rough. With the Audio you sometimes have to repeat what you are saying because the other person might not get all of what you are saying.

I've been looking for a home security system but wanted a wireless system. After doing my research, it came down to two different systems; Arlo by Netgear or Nest Cam by Nest. I decided to go with Arlo because Amazon offers a 5 camera kit for a little more than half the cost of buying 5 Nest Cams individually. Also, Arlo does not require a monthly/yearly cloud storage fee for 5 or less cameras compared to Nest Cams. So overall, the price beats out the competition.The setup is strait forward and relatively easy. You set up the base station by connecting your power and then one ethernet port to your existing network router. You then can either use your phone or computer browser to finish the set up. During the setup, you will sync your cameras to your base station by pressing one sync button on the base station and another on the camera itself. You repeat this process with any additional cameras you may have. Nothing overly complicated. The whole process took a little over 5 minutes which includes includes your account setup.Each camera requires 4 cr123a batteries. It's a little too early to tell how long the batteries will last but I do plan on buying rechargeable batteries when the current ones need replacing. Mounting the cameras is also an easy process. They can be either mounted with the included metal mount or by using an indoor/outdoor mount e.g.

. The magnet on the cameras themselves is relatively strong especially when paired with the included half dome metal mounts. No need to worry about the cameras falling.Quality of the cameras are ok in my opinion. They do a good enough job for basic surveillance but don't expect high quality videos. This is where Nest Cams perform better. Since the cameras run off of battery power, they do not consistently record, rather they go into a sleep state and only records when motion is detected. Also, when the cameras detect motion, there is a delay of 1-5 seconds before it starts to record since the cameras need to wake from their sleep state. I also wish that you can set detection zones when changing the sensitivity of motion, i.g. ignore the bottom right corner of the screen. I get a lot of false alerts because one of my cameras is in a tree facing the front of my house. Thus when the wind blows and some leaves enter the frame, the camera will start to record. No matter what sensitivity I have the camera set to, I cannot fix this issue. Another downside is that the cameras do not record audio. Arlo states that this is to conserve battery, I just wish that we were given the option to enable/disable audio instead of completely omitting the feature.The website is also very basic and the cameras take a short while to initialize before a live feed. Sometimes this can get annoying but not necessarily a deal breaker. Videos require flash is using a web browser for playback. Overall, the website does a basic job so don't expect anything amazing.There can be some improvements which is why I am giving it 4 stars. The initial price and the free cloud storage for 5 cameras or less makes this system a better value compared to Nest Cam but the delay when the camera starts to record and lack of audio recording prevents this system from having a 5 star rating. Overall, it's a good system for the price you pay. If you need audio and are willing to pay for a monthly/annual fee, I recommend going the Nest Cam route. If you are on a budget and need a simple system to monitor your home, this system may be good enough for you.
