I bought this as a gift for my wife and set it up so thought I’d share some observations: I was surprised how small and light it was initially, with five small push buttons to keep things simple, the top is all speaker which projects the sound upward, it a decent sounding speaker and more than likely a full range speaker which has the ability to play every frequency that a human can hear. Are the nature sounds loops? Sort of. My guess is they’re fairly long ones which overlap so there no obvious repetition. I’ll try and explain the noise options. white, pink and brown noise are constant random signals made up from frequencies that cover the entire sound spectrum. White Noise is all those frequencies playing at equal intensity without an harmonics. Pink Noise is all those frequencies at different harmonies that favour the higher pitched frequencies. Brown noise does the opposite and favours the lower harmonic frequencies. Out of all three Pink noise is considered the most musical and generally sounds like waves crashing on a beach. So I’d suggest starting with pink noise before trying the or their two. It’s a pretty decent machine on the whole that delivers what it promises at a decent price. It’s definitely worthy of being an appreciated gift.

It is hard for me to keep the numbers for the settings straight on a camera. This book has helped me more than any other I have read. It is easy to understand and has lots of pictures to show what is being explained.
