Surprisingly effective and bright
I was looking for a fill light source for cell phone photography, record videos. I wanted something as portable as a cell phone and bought this. It has a diffused panel for soft light, color temperature from 3500 to 5600K - this works really well. Also the output. At 5% brightness a selfie in a poorly lit room looks perfect without any hot spots.I have not used with DSLR yet, but I can see it working with flower shots, natural light portraits (with fill), limited DSLR videos with continuous lighting. It is thin like a cell phone and quite portable.It also backs up as a charger, if required.

Phone saver
Easy to put together with my cell phone. Seems very sturdy, still easy to charge with this attached and I like that it has two straps, one for the neck and one for the wrist. I could hang over a fence while taking pictures of Herculaneum or the Amalfi Coast and not worry about dropping my phone down hundreds of feet and not being able to retrieve it.Plus it frees up both hands when not using the phone.I would normally put my phone in my back pocket, but I always worried someone might steal it out of my pocket and run off. Now it’s hanging around my neck and in my sight at all times. No more worrying.

Phone Compatibility
There are some nice reviews about this product. Too bad I didn't read one concerning compatibility with my phone. Disappointed.

Will not hold the phone
Apparently the mechanism to squeeze the prongs together which hold the phone don't work. You can squeeze them together, but they do not stay and will not grasp the phone.Update: returned the broken car phone mount and received a new one ASAP which works great! Thanks!
