A Strongman arises.
In a poorer section of Granite City, a strong man arises advising the street people to take what they want. loot stores, burn cars, punish the comfortable and rich. He wears a mask. So some of his new followers. It all reminds us of today and Antifa. But this is the 1970's as evidenced by the muscle cars and old cathode television sets. This Strongman is not Samaritan. The guy people come to consider the Samaritan is a quiet citizen who advises his young admirer, 13 year old Sam Cleary to stay clean, avoid crime, and be glad for his somewhat square and hardworking single mom. Silvester Stallone is this Samaritan. or so it seems. to Sam.The story will play out between radicals looting the city stores vs. the ordinary hard working people. It comes down to a spectacular showdown fight, apparently between the long lost Nemesis and Samaritan. A fight between radicals who want to tear down the system and the city and the ordinary people who want to just get on with their lives as best they can.The very soul of Granite City is at stake!

predictable but fun
It was too easy to figure out an know from the start - but then how would you do such a movie better. It still played out well and I enjoyed the themes. It is nice to have movies in which the idea of conquering the evil within and to be good.

OK flick that remains a bit more realistic compare
Pretty basic story but pulled off ok. I liked it fine and was glad to see it wasn't 'too' over the top and remained somewhat grounded so I could take most of it more seriously than yer average insane high stakes OMG it's the end of the universe marvel movie kinda situation.
