I bought the Fitbit Blaze during Prime Day, as I had happily used a FitBit One for years and was tempted to upgrade. Fitbit themselves no longer sell the Blaze, having replaced it with two newer smart watches (which cost two and three times as much as I paid for the Blaze). However, as a first 'toe in the water' smart watch, I am very happy with the Blaze.Positives:It is very easy and straightforward to useIt has a good range of watch face styles that you can choose and change via the Fitbit appIt can get notifications from your phone (texts, reminders etc)It has a fascinating (to me!) Sleep Tracker that uses pulse rate to determine your sleep phasesI had no problem syncing the Blaze with my iPad or iPhoneIt has a range of Exercise pre-sets that you just click on and off at the start and end of your exercise, or it can recognise some types of exercises automatically, such as running or walking.Negatives:It's quite chunky and the screen is quite a bit smaller than the actual watch unitThe screen developed a fault after only a few weeks (careful) wear (though this was exchanged for a new one within a few days).You need to pop the watch unit out of the strap to charge it, which increases the potential of damaging the screen.It won't recognise the 'floors' that I climb on the gym stairclimber even using the pre-set Stairclimber exercise function. Obviously I'm not really going upwards but surely the point of the pre-set is that it compensates for the lack of real altitude gain?All in all, a great Prime Day purchase that is fast becoming an indispensable part of my day-to-day routine.
