This camera is TOUGH! I was on one of my vacations and ended up tripping while I was running with the GoPro and landed with all my weight on the camera... It only scratched it and got amazingly funny footage. Other than that, it takes AMAZING video and is the perfect way to make memories and ENCOURAGES YOU TO BE COOLER LOL!!

Like many outdoor enthusiasts, I have more than one action video cameras. I have Contour, Sony, GoPro, a GoPro look-alike (just because curiosity) and a Garmin Virb Elite. I could say right now to save you time: None of these action cameras come near the Garmin Virb Ultra, the latest GoPro included and they have been known as defining standard for cameras this class.If you ride a bicycle and have Garmin tools (I am one) such as GPS, cadence & speed sensor and HRM, this camera is a must have. The camera records your ride in 1080p or 4K glory and capture tons of information for your ride: route, speed, cadence, slope, heart rate, time..OK, you could say why would you need all these information? People ride before for centuries without needing this. But if you use a GPS for your ride, then you belong to the group who want as much information as you can get, if none other than to amuse yourself.Set the camera up could be a challenge. But it was no more difficult than a GoPro or even a digital SLR. I am not going over the cameras' features and operations, a downloaded manual from Garmin's website could tell you that and more.I purchased the Garmin remote to use with this camera. I mounted it on my handlebar, and it is significantly better than having to reach down and turn the camera on. I mounted my camera upside down, under the GPS so it could be awkward while riding. Now I can just start/stop recording and take picture by just pushing the button.I set my camera at 720p to save space on my regular rides and 1080p or 4K only on special occasions. 720p is fantastic by itself, color rendering is gorgeous and consumed less space and battery power.Last I heard, GoPro just realeased a new Hero camera and I for one, am not interested. This camera is more than I ever need.

This is a great kit for the money. That being said, it is a little less refined than the actual GoPro accessories. I find that the holes don't always line up. Also, you must use the mounts that come with this kit. You CANNOT mix and match the GoPro mounts. I have found that these helmet mounts are a bit larger than GoPro mounts. Can be frustrating when you're in a hurry. Other than that, this is an awesome kit. Stow away your GoPro accessories from this kit, and you'll be fine. I would recommend this to the frugal GoPro user.

We were pretty impressed at the quality of the camera for way less than a GoPro. My kids enjoys it. Quality is great. For a quarter of the price for what a GoPro goes for it was worth the purchase!

*Updated Review*After owning this hero5 for a few months now, it is still somewhat laggy but I have not had any problems with it other than the the screen being stubborn trying to change the settings on the screen using touch. I ended up buying two wasabi batteries as they now support all future updates from gopro.Changed my original 4 star to 5 because I am ok with the finicky touch screen as I can just use the button control to change settings.Those that know of YI ~ They claim to be the GoPro Killer but really they just copied what GoPro has and add a very few if not any new features. It is very easy to copy but to come up with new technology / features as GoPro is doing is just being a copy cater.GoPro is a awesome company, Give this camera a shot if you are new to action cameras or are looking to upgrade from a previous model GoPro. ~ I did hear of a hero6 coming out this year so maybe wait for that?

This has come in handy on many occasions for mounting my GoPro to whatever. Lots of angles and options in a simple design and its a pretty sturdy and quality built product. Hard metal, not plastic, other than the GoPro mount itself.

This is an awesome little action camera! I am so glad I went with this product over the GoPro, it actually has more features and comes with more accessories than the GoPro. Right out of the box it’s ready to, two batteries and a dual charger so you can charge them both at the same time. Will be attaching it to my paddle board tomorrow. First impression is that it’s well made and solid. Easy to setup. Highly recommend this item and the price point is perfect!!

This camera works extremely well and costs far less than a comparable GoPro! We love it!
