I initially bought the google nest for my nursery, not thinking about the fact that there is no monitor that comes with it (if we have babysitters they wouldn’t be able to access the camera unless they had our login info or we’d have to get an iPad to use as a monitor) which is inconvenient.The DXR-8 is the kind of monitor I wanted for our nursery. I ended up buying this as well and I prefer this over the nest. The Video quality, audio, and zoom are great! And I like that you can talk through the camera and the little monitor that allows audio on at all times (whereas the nest you’d have to open the app on your phone after receiving a notification). Would recommend!!

I was skeptical using this baby monitor in my 3 story home, but this monitor is amazing! If you do not want a wifi baby monitor, save money and buy this one. We live in a 3 story townhome and it works perfectly. My baby at the top floor and our family frequently going between all the floors and it still works in the basement with no quality issues! The camera quality is much better than I expected. I would absolutely recommend this to any family who does not want to have a wifi baby monitor in their home.

I run a regular "Goodstream" for viewers of my gardening channel on YouTube and this thing has been a huge upgrade from my built-in camera. It captures good video and audio for a good price. It's a little dark unless you have great light at night, but during the day it's very sharp and clear. I added an extra light on my desk and it does the trick. Good camera - would buy again.

Not bad, and glad I bought it. The reason for 4 stars is because of the audio sucks. I have an old MS HD5000 that has MUCH better audio and still gets great pictures, but I wanted to upgrade. Still glad I did.
