I bought this camera to capture bike rides and kayak trips this summer and over all it’s been really solid.Pros: -the image stabilization is really solid. It might be the camera’s best feature and in IMO looks just as good as some of the more expensive ones on the market.-4K vids look super crisp.-while the touch screen works nicely, I appreciate that there are dedicated buttons for the menu that you can access even in the weatherproof case. Nice touch.-this little thing is rugged! It has a rubberized type of case that feels solid in hand, and survived and over the handlebars crash on my mountain bike, no case. Dusted off the lens off and the thing still shoots mint.-it’s compatible with most GoPro mount accessories.-internal mic is surprisingly better that I expected, wind reduction is okay.Cons:-limited to 64GB SD card storage-low light leaves something to be desired, dusk/post dusk shots on bike trails underneath the trees can be tough.-would be nice if this was compatible with the V50 Pro batteries. In conclusion this is a lot of bang for the buck. If your just looking for good stable 4K video on the cheap, this is a no-brainer. While my use so far has been limited to bike rides and kayak trips, I can’t wait to see how this thing stacks up snowboarding this season. I’ll use the $$$ I saved over a GoPro on lift tickets!

The camera itself is great. Instructions are not included but need to downloaded. Editing software is hard to use.

I have had this camera for a few months and taken it on several trips. It's had held up incredibly well and it does it's job perfectly. I've captured some pretty cool moments with it and the value is definitely there.

After owning the V50X for about 3 months I have no complains. The battery life is great and the quality is crisp. For $100, I cant think about a better camera. I have used it as a dash cam and also as a POV camera. I am carpenter and I just strap it on my chest and it works great. The stabilizing feature is probably one of the best things about this camera. I was worried about the video looking amateur but that was not the case. Definitely recommend

Great little camera for the price! Many of the same capabilities as a much more expensive version.

I read quite a few reviews and decided that Akaso V50X would be a good fit for me. I needed an action camera primarily for recording motorcycle rides, so the main feature i was looking for was image stabilization. Well, I was not disappointed. I mounted the camera at first on my helmet, but the sticker went off in a couple week. The helmet was not flat and also a bit dirty, so it was an issue with my helmet, not with a mount. Then I put it on a handlebar, and now I am getting a very good picture. The sound quality is poor, which is understandable at highway speeds with all the wind. I also bought an external microphone, when used inside a building or without much wind, the sound becomes very good. Battery life is OK, especially since the camera came with two batteries. To summarize, I am very glad with this little cam and would definitely recommend to my friends.

I use this camera for motorcycle riding attached to my helmet and other areas on the bike camera works great internal mic is not very good but picture quality and stabilization is great IMO, I bought the external mic which seems to work better but not great, all in all it's a good camera for the money.

I own a GoPro Hero Black 5 and bought this camera as a budget alternative for my son. Having used both Akaso V50X and GoPro side by side, I can say that Akaso comes pretty close in quality for fraction of the price.- Image quality is good and stabilization is decent, although less smooth than the GoPro- Interface is user friendly and easy to use- Akaso camera is not waterproof by itself, unlike the GoPro, but it includes the waterproof casing which needs to be purchased separately for the GoPro- Akaso includes a spare battery and a dual battery charger - both would be extra purchases (and not cheap!) in case of GoPro- It allows for connection to a phone/tablet app via WiFi, both to control the camera and download the photage, just like the GoPro- The main downside is that the tablet app is a bit clunky and seems to have some glitches, which makes playback and editing of the videos a bit difficult - GoPro app is a lot smoother and easier to use- Akaso includes a wrist remote for the camera which GoPro doesn'tSummary: Akaso V50X is a great budget alternative to the GoPro. It has a few weaknesses and GoPro Hero Black produces slightly better photage and has a better app interface, but Akaso comes pretty close for just a fraction of the price.

When the audio quit working on my GoPro, I thought I was taking a chance in 'going cheap' and not spending a fortune for a substitute camera. I read a few reviews and purchased the V50X and am pleasantly surprised with this Akaso. The image stabilization is unbelievable. My main use is taking it into the backcountry for week-long trips hiking through mountains. Almost all of my former camera's videos have been bouncy, or noticeable shaky, but the first time I used the Akaso I was shocked how steady the video was while hiking. For the price, this is a no-brainer. Still images look great as well. The only thing I did is purchase their external microphone as the built-in mic (like all cameras) never seem to give me the audio quality/level I need for outdoor activities. Very good videos and pics without spending hundreds!
