I've used it for a few months now. I can summarize likes/no likes:LIKES:* Great overall bang for your buck. Probably a fraction of the name-brand action cam everyone knows about. And an even better deal when you factor in the would-be cost of all the added-in accessories.* Very small.* Easy to operate* Nice and well-functioning rear display* Again, a LOT of tossed in extras (waterproof case, mountain clips, etc.)* Remote watch* Great quality in shots--mainly during daylight of course.* Good image stabilizationNO LIKES:* Sounds quality is not strong. Use an external recorder if possible. Or buy the external microphone.NITPICKY (but perhaps good to know):* The tripod must be removed to open the battery door. Pity because it's so close!* Battery life is not strong--though they are very tiny batteries so it makes sense.* Stabilization comes set to OFF by default.* The camera lens is too exposed. Should either be recessed more, or have a protection ring around it.OVERALL:Again, it's a lot of camera and add-ons for the money. I didn't want to pay $$$$ for name-brand when I didn't know how much I would use it. I did do some bike rides and the recordings were great. I actually now just mainly use it in my garage to record a one-arm pullup attempt each day. Works pretty well for even that purpose and decent quality for being in less light. Plus, at 4K, I can zoom in for HD video and not lose sharpness.I am eager to bring this snowboarding when winter comes.WISHLIST:* Better sound from the camera itself.* Move the battery door so it can be opened when tripod connected.* Have the remote/camera signal that a recording has started or stopped. This would help when it's on a helmet.* Have the remote indicate that a recording is in progress.FANTASY WISHLIST:* Have the camera stream a low res video to a smartphone (great for monitoring camera shots to ensure the mounting is level and to see battery life.

I absolutely recommend this camera to anyone interested in snapping some great underwater moments!! My fiancé and I just recently became scuba certified and this camera gave us the ability to record our entire experience. I am a “newbie” when it comes to underwater photography, but I was pleasantly surprised by this camera (and its cost).

Great camera for the money

Absolutely love it. When I searched for go-pro alternatives I heard a lot of good about the V50X and decided to give it a try. Took it to some underwater caves and man was i impressed from still shot images to videos this exceeded my expectations and Im glad I saved some money while still getting a high quality action camera. Definitely reccomended especially with all that you get in the bundle!

I have it working as an RTSP cam via wifi on both my pc and phone, and while it takes some tinkering it works perfect for my needs, the battery charger and batterys are good, and it works well as a dash cam, Body cam, rifle cam, and more, all with just the included accessories, and maybe a tripod, i would definitely purchase again, only thing i wish it did, was better RTSP support, preferably via ONVIF, so that it doesnt require any tinkering(running wireshark to get the auth scheme, to work for both PC and phone) to get it to work as an amazing IP cam, and ive also used it as a USB webcam, which it did OK with, i prefer doing it over the wifi honestly, with a usb power bank...makes the perfect do-it-all webcam/ipcam/action cam/body & rifle cam, again the only area of improvement I can sight is the need to support ONVIF(and to support more than 1 client on the stream at a time, perhaps multicast?), but thats fixable in firmware, so hopefully that is implemented and then i would give it a 5/5, ill update it to that when they implement the updated firmware

After I got used to this little device, I realized that it was a good investment. Of course it has some real competition, but it has already provided some features that the competitors are still working on. It can be used as a webcam.Battery life is good. Picture stability is great. The only issue is that no audio can be recorded when the clear case is locked; it is a tight seal for underwater recording, though.Keep on improving the app.

Go for it an buy! Just keep in mind your paying $100 and it won't be a go pro. Worth the price tho. Great little camera and the waterproof case really holds up. The waterproof case has buttons that do work and press the buttons below on the actual camera. When you use the waterproof case the touch screen does not work, but you can fully use the camera using the manual buttons even though it takes longer. You do need a large properly formatted SD card, read the suggested one from amazon, it works great. If you think you can get buy with that old SD card you have laying around your most likely wrong. With the wrong SD card you can't take videos and the process is so slow don't get out on the water and regret it later. Do yourself a favor and get a good one. The batteries die quickly but they are only suppose to last 90 via the product descriptions, but it come with 2! Over all worth every penny, and I'm glad its not a go pro as I would be so upset if I broke it, with this I can be daring, take the amazing pics, and if I break it, its only another $100 to get the exact same camera, yet the quality and pictures it takes are great.

I am an avid photographer but I am new to action cams. I did a lot of research before purchasing this camera and so far I am very pleased with my purchase. The camera came with a ton of accessories which was really nice. It seems really well made and the video looks great, especially for the price. I am not sure how it compares to a gopro but for someone like myself that's just getting my feet wet with action cameras it was excactly what I wanted. I mainly purchased the camera to use on a drone and I am very pleased with the performance of the camera so far. I think this camera is a very good option for someone on a budget, or someone like myself, that want to build an affordable camera drone with good quality video.

If you compare this a GoPro, then there will be various visible drawbacks, but for one third of the price, you get a lot of things packaged into v50x. If you are a beginner and want to explore action camera videography/photography this is the product one should buy. Other than audio quality, everything works as expected. Good job by Akaso to make it affordable for beginners.

Just opened and test driving now. For the price, I'm really happy thus far with the AKASO!
