Overall it is very suitable for keeping a watchful eye on the interior of your home.

I have several solar powered cameras around my house since I can't easily get power everywhere. This is the first time that I have tried a PTZ one with pan and tilt. It was very easy to set up and get connected and the 1080P picture quality is great day or night. It has a floodlight mode where you can use it as a security light and get full color at night. The PIR motion detection isn't great but works as well as most. The only issue I had was finding a micro SD card that would keep working. I tried several that worked in other cameras but after a day I would get a no memory card found error. Tech Support via email has been great and after putting in a brand new name brand 64GB card it has worked perfectly.

Right off the back easy setup.App sync is simple.Interface is easy to work around.Good material to place outside and the camera picture and video is perfect no issues for the back ally of the lot.I plan to add more picture from the usage.

First, the good.Setup is easy. You can install Amcrest View Pro from the app/play store. Setup basically involves scanning the QR code on the bottom of the camera, turning the volume up on your phone, and waiting while your phone makes noises at the camera.For a camera this inexpensive, the feature set is very good.It supports saving recordings to FTP (with username and password), SD card, or an NFS NAS. NFS support is likely NFSv2/3 and not v4. The SD card can be used as a primary or backup storage destination.HTTPS SSL certificates are supported, including certificate import and self signed certificates.Wired and wireless network configuration are both supported, and interfaces can be prioritized.Now the bad.- I bought two cameras. One of them has constant mechanical noise which makes it's way into the recordings, and can also be heard during live view.- There doesn't seem to be any playback software available from Amcrest which will play back media stored on anything except the SD card or their cloud product. I'm currently saving media to an FTP server, and will be rolling out ZoneMinder soon.Overall, I like these cameras. It's clear that whoever worked on the firmware knew what they were doing, and did a pretty good job of figuring out what users were going to expect. I will be buying more of these cameras, as long as ZoneMinder can fulfill the role of an NVR.Update 2021-01-23: ZoneMinder worked fine, but I couldn't get PTZ to work. I didn't try really hard.I like the cameras enough that I bought two more, and I'm about to buy two more.

I am very happy with this security system! Shipping was fast and install was super easy. Everything needed was included. I have a perfectly clear view of my driveway and front yard. The night vision is clear and easy to make out movement. Now I can easily look in the camera to see who/what is outside instead of getting out of bed! This security system has given me the "extra set of eyes" that every homeowner wants and needs. Recommended

This is my first Amcrest Camera (IP2M-841-V3). I have had multiple Foscam cameras over the years. I knew about Amcrest but held off after getting used to Foscam's idiosyncrasies and their setup. I set the camera up using the web interface on Windows 10. It didn't seem to matter what browser I used. I tried Firefox, Chrome, and Edge - they all worked. The only thing that didn't work was setting up motion detection. I couldn't get my settings to save. I texted support. The guy said it needed a microSD card. Only problem with that is I was using ftp to store video (which it would do for sound alerts) and the camera doesn't have a microSD slot. I almost returned the camera. I called support for a last ditch try and got Raymond H. He solved the problem quickly. I had created a second admin account. The setting wouldn't save using the new account. When I used the original admin account, the settings saved. Hats off to Raymond H. at Amcrest support.

The great thing about this camera is that it’s wore free and the build quality is probably the best of any camera I have seen. Plugs into the app easily and works seamlessly.

I like this product and it's very useful as an add-on.
