These cameras have a nice picture quality, decent software, nice pan-tilt control, and work really well with an ethernet cable connection, but if your only option is wifi, I CAN'T recommend these security cameras. The wifi connected camera has an unacceptable delay and skips up to 5-10 seconds at a time when so-called live viewing. If you can hook these up via the ethernet cable option, I will highly recommend these security cameras, but again if wifi is your only option... nope!

Initally the set up of this camera was challenging. However Raymond H. from customer support was amazing. He was incredibly helpful & patient & a true expert. Now that the camera is set up correctly it works great. I can't say enough about how incredible Raymond H. was in helping me.

I have had this camera for 1 year, and it has been running 24/7. Amcrest Tech support has been very helpful. I spoke to Travis who helped me remotely reconfigure the camera.Pros: Good quality video, flexible/configurable camera, night vision that lights up a room, accurate pan/tilt. Easy to use app, Simple setup for getting the camera up and running. excellent tech support when they can be reached.Cons: wait times for tech support.

Purchased several of these for my beach house. I do not stay there year round so it’s nice to be able to check on the house and make sure there is no one in the house. Have a couple of the Amcrest outside cameras too. Perfect for times when hurricanes comes through. I can check in to make sure the house is still standing. Love the feature of being able to rotate the camera around to get different views of the house. Video quality is perfect. On the downside. I had a lot of problems setting the cameras up. Not sure why, but I had to call customer service to help me. He helped me set each and every camera up. Probably up to an hour. I purchased 6 cameras for the house. I would highly recommend this camera. Great customer service.

I bought this as a test unit to play around with RTSP streaming, and discovered that it is actually pretty feature-packed for a sub-$50 PTZ IP cam. (Although there really is no Z, only P & T. This is a fixed focal length cam.) The video quality is very good at 1080p and if you set your bitrate carefully, it barely puts a dent in your LAN. While some might consider the 2.4 GHz only wifi a disadvantage, it is actually not a bad deal as the 2.4 GHz signal has better distance and penetration than the 5 GHz signal. USB power makes using the camera very simple using any a micro-USB cable and a USB charger than can provide 2.4 A. The supplied USB cable is quite long allowing for flexible mounting with the sturdy, included mount.Setup was actually easier than the instructions suggested. Using the phone app for the initial setup was simplest. After that, using the web interface to set a static IP address for the wifi and wired interfaces is easy, and the web interface allows access to all the advanced functions of the camera. The web interface is not always intuitive, but it is possible to figure it out to get the camera configured the way you want it. What was not easy to figure out was how to access the RTSP stream, as the documentation is actually incorrect. Fortunately, the information can be found in the Amcrest support forums. The Android app works quite well, although the PTZ function is a bit fiddly. The default setting for PTZ adjustments moves the camera too quickly, making it difficult to make fine adjustments. PTZ movement from the web interface works more smoothly, and is adjustable. The phone app playback mode is actually better than the web interface mode.Night vision is quite good. I set mine up on the back porch, and it adequately illuminated the entire back yard, perhaps 50 feet away, with enough power to identify objects and animals. While this is designed for indoor use, I bet it would function well outdoors mounted in a sheltered location, say under a porch roof. Motion detection is a bit fiddly, but does work. You can set up to 4 detection areas with custom shapes and detection settings. Nice. There is a built-in microphone, and it does work to record audio and can be used to trigger recording or alarms. The microSD card slot is hidden on the bottom of the PTZ ball. Recording to it is simple.Overall, pretty feature-packed. If you are looking for an IP camera toy, or a simple but powerful security cam, this is a good intro model.

This Camera was very easy to setup and the app s very intuitive. The night vision image is very good. However, when you zoom in the picture distort quite very much even on day vision.
