We do jewelry photos which are very difficult to shoot, especially when iridescence is involved. We have big lights to set up and get good shots, but then we have been having issues with some of the light leaving things looking a bit dead. Enter this light. Let's take a look.WHAT IS THIS LIKE?This a light that is about the size of a smart phone- well the slightly larger ones. It comes with a case that has an elastic band on one side and a net bag with elastic top on the opposite side. The kit comes with a square slide to put on the camera along with screws to hold the discs in place to stop wobble. There is a charge outlet,, a charge cord (USB on the other end) and an output cord which goes from C to USB.HOW DOES THIS WORK?When you turn this on, you press the power button and hold it down. The light goes on. There is a little window with the information in it.TIME LEFT FOR USEThis tells you how many hours are left before you need to recharge so you can plan your sessions.BATTERYThere is a battery indicatorBRIGHTNESSFrom 5% to 100%TEMPERATURECoolest temp being 5600K down to 3200K which is like candlelight.DIALThe dial on the side allows you to go up or downPOWER BUTTON DUAL MENU BUTTONYou use the power button to turn on the light, but once it is on, then if you touch it once quickly, it changes from brightness to temperature so you can set what you like. An arrow is very obvious so you know where it is set.HOW TO ATTACH TO CAMERAI have a Canon Poweshot G12 and this attaches up where a flash usually goes. You can screw this into the lamp either horizontally or vertically. You slide in the metal plate with the screw on it, then you screw the light onto that and use the discs to tighten up the light so it does not move.HOW DOES THIS PERFORM?I have to say, this little thing is amazing. It has fantastic light, works very well and even though you can use it by itself for video or interviews, etc, for jewelry photos, we need to have additional light to use with this to avoid shadows.I have gotten some excellent photos which are really nice and with a little adjustments in photo editing turn out to be great in capturing texture, color, and iridescence.CHARGINGI found that a few hours of charging gave me a complete charge. After using this for about three hours (I turned it off in between set ups) I still have four out of five bars on the battery indicator and about 4 hours left of predicted use time.WILL I NEED ANOTHER LIGHT?If you are doing product photos like we are of jewelry or something that is detailed and needs to have very good lighting, then you will probably need another light. I would say a second one of these would be perfect- set it up on a little tripod and it will be great. If you are just doing portraits, or interviews, you might be able to get away with just this light. Shadows at that point don't matter as much- unless they are severe, of course.THE BOTTOM LINEThis is one of the best things I have ever gotten for taking photos. It has really helped me take photos beautifully an I am thrilled with it. This is such a versatile little light! It's very bright, easy to adjust the color temperature, easy to adjust the brightness. It's perfect as a bonus light for shooting a sketch or video, and I use it to help take product photos. It's the absolute ideal light for a personal film/photo setup, and honestly, it's valuable as an extra light for a higher level film shoot too. Putting it to great use!

This LED light is very bright and is great for low light situations. I like that you can change the intensity of the light. It's a nice alternative to using my speed light. The light comes with a foot that allows me to mount it on the top of my SLR. The light comes in a nice storage case that can hold the charging cable and a few other small items. It's a good tool to have on hand if you do a lot of photography in low light situations where a light would be useful.

This light is about the size of a cell phone - but it is extremely powerful. I am a professional full time photographer and I am always on a lookout for a rechargeable lights that fit in my pocket for any occasion. This light is the thinnest video light with so many features. There is brightness adjustment as well as Kelvin color temperature adjustment. There is a small LED screen that indicates how much battery will last according to the custom setting you have dialed in. This light is really great for any selfie lover - you can take a perfect selfie in a low light situation if you add this light.Also, the light has mounting ability on 3 different sized - and you can mount it on a tripod or on top of your camera. It works really well handheld as well. Fantastic small and powerful light.Oh and it also can be used as emergency phone charging unit - bonus! Amazing product.

You can’t have too many of these, multiple lights for different creative setups are a must, and these portable led lights make it easy! This light is solid aluminum construction, feels durable but it surprisingly lightweight. That’s a great advantage if you are using it in your hot shoe on camera, the lighter the better. It’s really bright, and adjustable to a fine degree with the control dial, as is the color temperature for matching the ambient light, a must! The oled display tell you exactly how much time you have left on the battery depending on your brightness level. It can also be easily mounted vertically or horizontally on a light stand.

Super simple to use, great lighting, very well built. Absolutely love it.
