Everything about this little radio is great, except the power output. The two I got only put out around 4 1/2 watts. High, medium, low setting outputs are identical to the UV5 model (Which looks identical to the F8HP). I bought two more units (Still in transit). And if they do not put out 8 watts I may return all 4.Update:Bought a second power meter and now they measure around 7.5 watts. Overall very happy with these little puppies.They all hit my repeater (And other's repeaters) from miles out even with the stock antennas.

Worth the cost for the ability to reach farther repeaters in my area. Battery life, sound quality and sheerness are good. Good for first time Amateur radio operators to jump into the game.

Great radio with fantastic battery life. I can use it for days before it drops to 2 bars on battery life. Great audio quality and having the extra power helps transmission clarity. Easy to program using the keypad.

This is my third Baofeng - got the first two UV5R's for my wife and I. I was attracted to having the 220 band, and to the improved inputting of channels manually. This really works, and makes adding channels on the fly a snap. I've actually bought several of the earlier version to give away to newly licensed hams to get the on the air. May not be doing that with this due to the increased cost, and I'll certainly recommend it. Now, to breath a little life into our 220 machine...

Not all working right. No phone # to call I email you to call me. Today I call the number it show on Amazon try to explain what’s going on. If I don’t hear from by Friday I will ship back for replacement
