I'm new to the Ham Radio field. Although the unit works well, the manual is extremely difficult to fathom and uses terminology that I don't understand. Also, I'm disappointed that there's an A-B band choice, but I can't program frequencies on Band B. The manual also doesn't explain how to use the button shortcuts, except the one to Scan. I'd say my biggest problem is with the manual, being incomplete and vague for a beginner.

Its great all the way around. Sound quality is great, it has 127 channels for you to program and battery life is great also. Portable, it has a radio, emergency lights and alarm if you're in trouble. No down falls from me.

Works good ! only it’s really NOT worth the extra money over the UV-5R . the extra power is really the only difference which helps kind of? but not really... save your money! not a bad radio by any means just not worth the extra 40$ ... buy THREE Uv5r’s and call it a day! And yes I am a licensed ham operator

Very good build quality and looks like it can take a little abuse in the field. Sound quality is great and batter life is very good. Make sure you read the owner's manual because this radio has a ton of features and options customizable to the user.

This little jewel is great! I like the features, although programming via the device's chicklet keyboard is slow and awkward and programming via a cable and computer is really just filling in a table. Off-line programming (cable and CHIRP software) requires careful setup but is easy once you're connected. Still figuring out some of the details, but it is easy to download and upload sets of frequencies from the device for areas that you might want to monitor. I use the BaoFeng's scan function to listen in on local NOAA weather and emergency channels.

All fine. One missing start for it expectedly outputs less than specs: 7W on VHF and 4W on UHF...

Would recommend adding a log range antenna to your purchase. Has good distance but I required more.Excellent choice for power and adaptability.

My husband loves this radio I bought him at first a little problem programming it but when we hooked up the cable (buy separately from BaoFeng) to computer very easy to use. Great quality for price.
