This radio is way better than any other Baofeng radio I've seen or had. It was manufactured by Baofeng under Btech specs. It came with an actual manual instead of just some half-assed directions that's half translated. Manuel is 82 pages deep and it's worth looking into more than once. It goes in-depth on just about everything and then some. The interface is a little bit different than before but they've made it better honestly. This one's actually quality. I would say the only downside to this radio is the max transmit power you can get is 5 Watts. I bought it for the 1.25 M and felt a little disappointed when I couldn't find an 8 watt version but that was before I got it in hand, this thing is impressive.

I think they're great radios and an inexpensive intro into the hobby. Battery life is very long . I use mine for checking into repeater nets 16 miles away, keeping track of the weather, testing 2m and 70cm antennas and amateur radio satellite contacts. Great value for the money!

Using this for everything I can. It's durable, rugged, has more battery life than you know what to do with, and is a great entry level HAM radio. I can only say good things about this radio.

I've had the radio for a couple of weeks and, with the exception of a battery that may be an issue, the jury is out. On Sunday I turned the radio on and the battery, that held 3/4 of a charge before me shutting it down on Saturday, was 'dead'. "Strange", I thought so I plugged it in to the charger. Sunday evening I removed the charger after a 12 hour charge and the radio still wouldn't fire up. Today, Monday, I turned it on and it worked. Not sure what's going on.
