Nice, small and compact and still 8 watts output. Programming is awesome on the PC with CHIRP.

Pros -Set it up to connect to a cheap low watt radio my son has. I talked and drove for right around 1.75 miles out from the house before he let me know he'd lost my radio signal (we used cell phones to communicate the loss). I'd say not bad since we live in a heavily wooded area with hills. Setting it up with repeaters can only make it better.Con- it's not intuitive to configure manually, you will need to purchase the programming cable and download some freeware to help you configure the channels and settings you need.

You maybe able to program the radio without a computer, but I could only program radio with computer.

I will be honest in my review. I have not had much time to sit and learn how to use it fluently. The instruction book is easy to read, and it will not take me long to figure things out.

bought a triband from anouther retailer that was a baofeng knock off and this radio for the $20 more is worth itwish i would have purchased this one first
