If you need a really good reliable ham radio, Baofeng is the brand you want. So far, I had no problems working the this radio

What a fun little radio. I upgraded the antenna, programmed in the GMRS channels, got my GMRS license, and programmed in some local emergency channels. Taking my Technician test today and will probably stick with Btech for my mobile rig. Really enjoy listening to the LE helicopter help ground units track a suspect.

Good radio although priced a little higher than others. It is what it is, a boafang. Needed a separate programming cable which was 20$. I can get about 20 miles away with it though. Which is pretty good for an HT.

Was recommended by many people and not disappointed. As many mentioned before don't even bother with rechargeable box. It's trash. Get set of recharge batteries and charger.Customer service is super awesome!

I was unsure at first, but once I figured out how to program and use the radio it is by far the best radio I ever used. I wish it was a little more waterproof, but it’s okay. Just be careful. You can program many frequencies and broadcast too high in some of them stick to Marine VHF, FRS and CB Channels and you should be okay. It does broadcast at 8 watts and 3 is the max in many of these frequencies so just be aware. This is not a toy but for serious marine or backcountry use.
