The first one I had my buddy wanted it so bad and I gave it to him, he has since bought another for his to go kit. I just replaced the first one and like it, the only problem I have is you need two antennas, there are tri band antennas than work well with it, but they are so huge. If they could make a good strong expanding triband antenna like I have for my Kenwood I would give it another star. The antennas they supply work very well, but you keep having to change them. That is my only complaint but the radio itself has preformed fine both for my friend and myself.

This is an amazing Ham Radio for the price.Good performance on all bands. I bought an extra just to have in my car.I use this unit for CERT communications. It works as well as my $300 Yaesu.

This radio has an amazing amount of functionality for a very low price. People can hear me just fine on all three bands and I can hear them. Battery life is excellent. No complaints at all. I highly recommend getting the programming cable and the 320a antenna with this radio. Both show up in the "Frequently bought together" section.

Tri-Band is why I got this one. I matched it with a Baofeng BF-F9V2+ which gives me flexibility and the range I needed. With the programming cable and Chirp, setup is a breeze and I can easily share the channel list (as supported) between the radios.

Works on 2 meter, 1.25 meter, and 70 cm. Suggest buying Nagoya NA-320A Triband HT Antenna. Radio comes with two antennas, one for 2 meters and 70 cm, the other for 1.25 meters. Comes with battery and charger. Uses same program cable, batteries, and charger as my BAOFENG UV5R.

45-50 bucks for all this and great performance!!! I have been a ham since 1993. Back in the day this radio cost 400-500 easy. With a magnet mount dual band antenna on top of the suv I did 50 miles into our repeater. Great radio.

Works very nicely. Has good clear audio. Was recommended by friends. Friend used CHIRP software to program it.

Seems to work well for the cost. Receives as well as the higher cost Yaesu handheld I have. Biggest limitations are the limited number of channels available and scan function( I haven't researched that enough yet to determine if there is a setting I havent found to allow longer delays during scanning or to stop scanning if an active channel is found). Was able to use with a local repeater while inside a vehicle when transmitting with low power - individual I was talking to didnt seem to have a problem understanding me so connection must have been understandable.
