Radio works well. Cheap entry level. The user manual is genius.

Tested with a friend and the distance was excellent. Don’t bother buying the cheap units that say they travel a few miles - those maxed out at 1/2 mile, so only good for short distances. Purchased this unit with 8 watts to see how much better, and it was 1000% better. Added a longer whip antenna too. This unit works perfectly. Highly recommend.

Bought this last year as a backup but instead used it as primary; most handy to monitor ham channel and emergency channels (ARES member). Mostly repeater work out here. Fine on UHF also. Only complaint: Clip is marginal, bends too easily, then broke and unit fell off belt, stricking kitchen floor (linoleum), revealing poor design on battery retaining method as both sides of the mechanism show no damage, battery declines to stay connected. Duct Tape, Here I come!

Great support by the vendor. I received my BF-F8Hp unit and when I attempted to program the channels with the BaoFeng programming cable. The unit would lock up and restart my PC in a loop. Vendor sent me a new unit and we are good to go. Appreciate great support.Thanks,

This is a great little radio but its very hard to program, battery also does not last long when using 8w.

This is my 3rd radio and for what they are they work well. All my radios are still up and running just needed another one. I’ve had two of these for about 6 years and they hold up well and always had good sound quality out of them. A good antenna helps that a lot to

Good utility HT. Sound is not as good as my Yaseaus but the price point makes these good for tossing in the vehicles for spares. Also gave one to my daughter so she can listen until she gets her ticket

This radio plus an extra or extended battery is excellent for your contingency bag. I haven’t abused it but it does a great job enduring the cold of the trunk of my car during the winter time. Excellent beginner radio for those people wanting to get into radio communications.
