This is my first drone and this is my beginner's opinion. It is a perfect toy and I was able to fly it from the first second. It is very stable, easy to control, and it is fun to have it in the air. Very quite for a drone and if you fly it higher than 20 meters it is almost unnoticeable. Battery charge easily holds for more than 20 minutes and lasts longer if you keep it in the air and don't land it and launch more than once. I am taking off one star for two design flaws. First of all using WiFi is very questionable. The connection between remote control and drone is very strong and never lost but It takes 100-150 meters for the drone to go out of the WiFi range of my iPhone 6. To make it worse the connection is 5GHz what additionally shortens the range. I honestly don't see a way of communicating with the drone all the way to the specified 1500 meters range. Be aware that you will not be able to fly it with goggles further than 100 meters. The drone doesn't have FPV and the only way to fly it with goggles is with VR goggles and a phone but this will be limited to 150 meters maximum. You will need really good eyes if you want to fly it up to a mile. Another annoying problem is that every new session the app sets back into beginner's mode limiting flight height and distance. It takes some time to set and save new parameters. This might be a problem with the app and I am sure they will fix it soon. Overall great drone with a bad designer's choice to use WiFi for communicating. The good thing is that the remote has a call back button automatically returning the drone to the start point. With WiFi connection lost this might be the only way of getting it back if flown further than what you could see. The support is amazing. Usually they will answer to emailed questions the very next day.

The delivery of this product was amazingly fast! Not a single problem here with that. The design looks great. The major problem I have is with linking the drone to the transmitter. I tested the ability to turn on and check camera the day I received it and after a little effort (and watching videos, I got it working. Today (the following day) I got the FAA certification and FCC airspace approval to fly in a park near me. I reached out to support but don't expect to hear anything on a Sunday. My problem: turn on the battery while on leveled ground (turns on white led in the front and blue in the rear, then flashing red.) I turn on the remote and push up and down on left joystick but it still just flashes red. When I paired last night, the color changed. Didn't happen now and I didn't have a chance to operate it, so not sure if it was going to fail anyway. The WIFI worked and I saw what the camera pointed to through my phone, but controller won't pair. I'll update my review if they are able to help me, replace for a working one,or I return the product.I am upset because I've always wanted a drone and now have one I can't use day 1. Hope to adjust my rating due to a good experience by Ruko as I've been reading.Update: Completely changed my review for this product after working with the customer support group at RUKO. They really are committed to customer satisfaction and worked with me on correcting my issue until completed. I had the opportunity to fly the drone several times and found it to work as expected. I will try the other functions, which quite frankly, you wouldn't find in other lower priced drones to retain this candid review. Thank you to Flora and Lassie for the consistent follow ups and making things right. This truly shows how devoted you are to your product and your customer base! The battery time, flight control and camera use went quite well for the price of this product. I'd recommend getting it as a starter drone. You'll have a lot of fun with it!

This product was shipped in only one day, packaged perfectly for protection and the carrying case is perfect. The drone handles amazingly and has features that you only find on the much higher priced products.May seem like a small thing...but the full size instructions were easy to read and explained all the flight and other features...and the spare blades and hardware was a very nice touch. The charging ports are really convenient as well as the SD card slot. Battery removal is the easiest I have ever experienced either on airplanes or other helos and drones. The camera takes great photos and videos and the link up to my cell via the app only took a minute... and having the video and pic record on the cell is very handy as well to show others the flights. I plan to recommend this Ruko F11 Pro drone to my flying buddies at the RC club.thanks again for a great professional product. and a job well done.DC Charleston, SC

I will preface the review and indicate that this is my third quadcopter drone, but I still consider myself a novice. My first was a Quark Micro Drone completely manually controlled drone. It is an indoor auditorium/gymnasium drone or possibly an outdoor drone if there is absolutely zero wind. Anything beyond that, mother nature controls your drone, you do not. It still functions to this day and never replaced a prop or broke anything. The second is a Potensic D85 drone. Definitely more than a step up. It has some quirks, especially during take off and the wind could drive it unpredictably some times. The return to home is pretty solid if you get into to trouble mostly. Trees are definitely your enemy. Don't take of near them. Think Charley brown and the kite eating tree. All of my crashes have been tree branch related, where I disregarded taking off close (within 30 feet) of any/all trees. All my crashes were wind related where the drone was being moved by wind currents. Ground level wind and above treeline/building wind are way different. Transitioning between them is always a challenge. Return to home is nice, but once in one of these challenging situations where your are suddenly restricted in your options, do use it. In almost all cases, it is better to just shut off all drone motors and let gravity take over to get you out of the situation than to press it. Get below tree branches or structures, then hit power and try to reduce the effects of gravity, if possible. Having props hit objects and sending it bolting in unpredictable directions will limit your options to a fragile pinball waiting for the scene of the crash. One of branch/prop hitting situations involved the D85. A solid drone, but from 30 feet high, an entire arm of the quad copter broke cleanly off. A few drops of Clear JB Weld later, and the same drone was back in the air flying like new. I didn't even need to replace the dinged up props. It flew predictably, but I still ended up replacing them out of an abundance of caution. That brings me to my third quadcopter drone The Ruko F11Gim drone. Everything about it including the case is professional, well made, and well thought out. It is a little trickly to pair depending on your device. If you have a table without 5Gig WIFI, forget trying to attempt to pair it. Pairing is a little finicky, you always have to do so in this order. Drone on flat surface, don't touch it. Turn on remote control next, Pair with phone next. Do these in any different order is an exercise in frustration. Nothing will be easy. Once paired, setting up the drone and calibrating the drone are a little order dependent and finicky (you will end up turning off the drone and starting over) but easy to get through again once you work through it once. Make sure the controller stays in its default "NORMAL MODE" (slower responding and more forgiving mode). First flight to around five feet was very stable and easy to maneuver and rotate with no issues. Don't let that fool you into complacency. The second maneuver is just going from a hover and simply sending up at increasing altitudes to see how things respond to the current weather conditions. Okay up to a point, until the drone decides to float in an uncommanded direction towards said trees, probably interacting with upper winds. This is where the easy way out should not involve return to home. Return To Home does two irreversible things. First, it sends it to an altitude higher that you are normally at, to basically attempt to put it above obstacles. It does absolutely nothing for you if there are any obstacles above said drone location, such as tree branches or out croppings. Second, it doesn't put you directly over your home position, but puts it in some circle away from your home location and slowly brings it back it. Neither of these are good for a tight landing location. If their are trees around your home location, Return to Home might as well mean send me to tree and hope for the best. My initial reaction to hit the Return To Home button to address the uncommanded drone movement (wind related) was a bad one. It sent it into the path of a tree, then up through its branches. No drone propeller likes branches nor can it fly stably through them. The Ruko F11 GIM is no exception. Return to home sent up through said tree branches, pinballing through said tree branches while attempting to stabilize itself as it fell and crashed atop my roof upside down. Not a good experience for rotating props that continued to rotate well after the crash. The Return to Home feature managed to keep the drone from falling all the way to ground level vs the top of my roof and some damage, but there was some damage. The drone arms are very solid and with stood the impact. One of the clear caps where the flashy red/blue lights was knocked off. A drop or so of clear JB weld solved that problem. What couldn't be solved was while the camera was not directly impacted, the shock of the impact damaged the panning up/down feature. It no longer moves vertically. In all other respects, the camera works fine, the zoom works fine, image is clear, no damage to lens, just no camera movement up or down. Not sure its camera is its best feature now, but still works and is fun to fly.As with most things, you learn more when things don't work right that when everything works perfectly, but any drone crash is unpredictable and is to be expected. There is no collision avoidance. Any feature used such as follow me will also mean follow me into a building, tree, or bridge (if driving in a car with follow me) if common sense is not used. Probably if you are in a car using follow me, you are not using common sense. How many YouTube videos are out there doing just that? Quite a few!!

Ok, did a lot of research and the Ruko F11Gim kept coming up as a serious contender. So, I stepped off and ordered it. Fast shipping and easy unbox. Study the videos and set up card it comes with. It's actually pretty simple, but not a simple Walmart kid drone setup. Great case and manual!Test flight time - Well, I took it out in some 5-8 mph winds. Getting it all oriented and configured was pretty easy if you follow the quick card it comes with. The only thing I would add....turn off your phone's data link to your service provider. I didn't do that for my first flight and I had no video or link to the drone. Once I did that, game on! The F11 flew great! Very responsive and easy to manage. It holds it's position relatively close when I would let off the joysticks. I tested the distance and height limits to see what happens when it goes out of range....it stops and returns back to range! The return to home function is amazing. It goes to set height, returns to original take off spot, and then slowly descends. Once on the ground, motors stop and drone is home! Tested this about 3 times and it landed within 2-3 feet of original take off everytime.Photo and video are amazing. I may have to read about the tilt (up/down) speed setup. It was a little fast. The gimbel makes a HUGE difference. All my videos (even moving and in wind) were crisp, steady, and colorful. Definitely a plus over drones without!Battery time was a solid 25 minutes. I pushed it to the end and when it got low, the drone returned, landed, and powered down. Simple. The follow me function worked great and it followed me sideways and as I walked away.Noise level was good. Once it got above 20 ft, relatively quiet. Even close it's not like drones of old.My overall impression....very solid drone for someone looking to step up and have a drone for quality videos. Very good response and control. Great safety features built in to ensure it doesn't get away. Great app that is easy to read and control. Nice part is when changing functions in app, I just let go of joysticks, drone stopped and hovered, made changes...and continued on. If you want a great drone at a good price....here is your best option IMO. It doesn't have obstacle avoidance like the higher end drones, but if you are responsible and know your flight area, shouldn't be a problem. Ruko.....job well done!
