I like the portability, easily carry in a pocket. and the fact that it can do both color temperatures without having to attach any extra filters.Left dial turns it on/controls the brightness levelRight dial controls the color temperatureIt charges through USB-C.Size makes it convenient to attach to a gimbal or directly on a camera. If only it could do RGB, that would have been more amazing.

I had previously tested out a light from the same manufacturer that is nearly identical (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B089Y1YRCM/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o08_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1). The difference between these two lights is that this one is a little larger, and it has a second knob that adjusts the color temperature. In addition, this one has 41 white LEDs, and the smaller one has 49 LEDs, but I couldn’t really tell a difference between the brightness levels if there is one. This one also has a higher capacity rechargeable battery (3000 mah versus 2000 mah). Other than that, they are pretty much the same. They have similar diffusers, and each has 3 cold shoe mounting locations if you want to attach more lights, and each has a wheel that controls the on/off and brightness levels (it’s stepless, so you just move the wheel left or right to make it dimmer or brighter).I liked that light quite a bit, and there is no reason for me to not like this one as much. In fact, there are reasons to like it better. This one does everything the other light does while adding in a little more with the temperature adjustment. The two reasons you might choose the other one over this one are price and size. The other one is a little smaller, and it’s a little cheaper. However, it’s not that much smaller, and it’s not that much cheaper. I’m glad that I have both, but if I had to choose just one, I would pick this one since it adds in the color temp feature. It’s a solid and bright light, and it also happens to improve on the one thing I specifically did not like about the other light. The wheel that controls the power on/off and brightness on the other one was completely smooth on the top (outside part of the wheel, not the face), which meant that it was more difficult to turn on and off than it should have been. The wheels on this light have the grips that are on the face of the wheels added to the outside edge, so it’s quite a bit easier to get them going.

My headline pretty much sums up my opinion of this LED, bi-temp and rechargeable light. I have it's little-brother version, which is rechargeable, single color temp (5k) and with a built in diffuser. The manufacturer is acknowledged as one of the more reliable and trusted, and I've found these lights do have a following. And yes, I am influenced by my peer's purchasing opinions.Just yesterday I used this light, along with my Neewer 176 on my DSLR, photographing a sign installation in San Diego. I was taking close ups of the installer working at the entrance to a new building, and at eye-level. The great thing about LED lighting is that it allows previewing and fine tuning of your lighting. And for this job it worked out well. You can see exactly what the lighting will be, as opposed to flash work without a modeling light. As you may know, In the studio flash setups have modeling lights. In the field, LED, at least on close up work, is constantly there. It let's you work on 'sculpting your lighting to more effectively lighting your subject.' When you see the lighting you want, you take the shot.As a photographic tool, and given this light's quality, utility and economy, I do think more about how many I could use, than should I get one...

this is a small modular flood light that can be attached to either a tripod or the hot shoe on a camera. this charges very quickly, it lasts for a couple of hours on a full charge. the 'cold' shoe is made well. it is strong and versatile. there are spaces notched out for other lights to attach to.

They are pretty soft and defused and just a little more powerful than the smaller VL49 but they are also a little bigger and heavier.

Battery drains way faster than advertised. That’s the Only knock to a pretty decent light.
