You have to play with it a bit to gain the expertise.Charger not provided.You need to put the objects very close to the lens to use the 1000x magnifying power which may not be possible with all objects.The microscope comes well packaged, very easy un unpack.It's rechargeable, it comes with the cable, however does not come with a charger. The instructions say "do not use the laptop to charge" as it will switch to PC mode.It needs a 5V charger so make sure you do not use a fancy phone charger that outputs more than 5V or you will burn it.Some ideas are using some lamps/stations with built in USB instead if a wall charger is not around.The 1000X magnification has some tricks, it actually works more as a focusing ring than a zoom.There are 2 buttons for zooming separately reaching from 1x to 2x in 0.2 increments.Once you understand this dynamic, then it will be easier to use. In example if you want something very magnified, it needs to be really close to the lens and then use the wheel until you focus it.I have attached 2 pictures, one taken with my phone, marking the area where I used the microscope. Then I placed the device as closest as I could and focused it. You will be able to see the aphids in the plant.It connects to the cell phone via Wi-Fi to their app, just turn on the device, locate the wifi SSID it produces, connect to it, open the app, and you're ready to go.Final thought:For the price and what is capable of doing is a good choice for a small gift.

Highly recommended. I can't imagine a better inexpensive yet high powered microscope. Good build quality. The piece that articulates with the microscope is actually metal and you never see that any more. The images it produces are very clear and the power is excellent. Very good product!

I'm impressed how well it works for the price. Very easy to use and set up is a breeze.

The first one was dead on arrival, would not turn on. Amazon had another one at my door within 2 days and it works great.

Looks like it was built well and picture quality is good. Want the stand to be a bit more sturdy. App is easy to use.

I saw a “hair expert” using a similar microscope on YouTube to show patrons how damaged their hair was. To see hair follicles that close-up was very fascinating! I just had to get a scope and try it out for myself ! I was surprised and honestly skeptical that the price was so affordable. But the not only did the scope ship fast but it works great and was very easy to follow the directions and setup! My daughter and I had hours of fun checking out our hair, skin and other objects under the scope. You can even save a picture of whatever it is your viewing or a video clip to send to your doctor
