WiFi IP Camera Solar Security Camera Outdoor Wireless 2K HD with Color Night Vision & Audio IP66 Waterproof Battery-Powered Surveillance Camera
SKU: GW50.0035
Overview - I own 2 of these cameras, both powered by solar panels. The solar panel keeps the camera fully charged which means once you set up the camera and connect it properly to your 2.4Ghz Wifi network, your work is done. There are mounts included for both the camera and solar panel, both are easy to mount and install just about anywhere. The USB cable on the solar panel is about 10 ft long...if you need more length you can certainly opt to purchase a micro USB extension cable. I found 10 ft to be plenty long. No need to take the camera off the mount to charge it periodically. Very convenient.WiFi 2.4Ghz Signal range - I purchased these cameras to monitor my chicken coop and rabbit pen, which are located about 100 ft away from my home in a rural 1.5 acre lot. From roughly 100 ft away, the camera gets a consistent 60-70% 2.4Ghz signal from my home mesh wifi network. Beyond 150-200 ft of Wifi signal radius, my best guess would be that signal strength would become a substantial issue, so plan your camera location properly before purchasing. These cameras are single-band 2.4Ghz only, not 5Ghz compatible. 5Ghz however means more limited range, generally half the range of 2.4Ghz.Cons - The only drawback to this camera is the CloudEdge app. While the app itself isn't awful, it's only available for iOS and Android. That means no real-time viewing from a web browser on a PC or Mac. This might be a deal breaker for some. The camera does have a built-in intercom, and it does work fairly well through the app (tested it out) along with audio captured from the camera.I did notice random issues the first few days I installed the camera...after awhile I could no longer connect to the camera from CloudEdge. The app would report poor network, or camera offline, even though the camera was clearly online and getting a decent 2.4Ghz signal from the router. This was not caused by lack of WiFi signal, it appeared to be a firmware issue. The most recent firmware update, version 2.2.0.20210817 (current as of this review), which was pushed to the camera within a week of purchase, seems to have resolved that problem.Overall this camera is really nice and the solar power is a must-have convenience for placement of a wireless camera when there is no nearby power outlet for external power. Would've received 5 stars if a PC web browser real-time view option was available.

These cameras seem to work good. I bought 3 in feb. 8 months later one of them wouldnt recognize any sd cards. Contacted customer support and after going back and forth trying to solve it, they decided to send me a new camera. This camera is located under a porch out of the weather while the other two are totally exposed and are still working fine. It was probably just bad luck. I'll update this to 5 stars after I get the new camera and test it. Hoping it should be ok.

TL;DR - not waterproof enough for direct rain. Add silicon glue.app is not great, sharing videos is too hardlag for motion detection is very highsupport is very good though!I bought one of these in august. Since it comes with a solar panel, it's pretty great that you don't have to wire ANYTHING to install it. And, the price, including the solar panel? INSANE!In the first installation, it took forever to get it online. The SD card wasn't reliable. Now, that seems to be sorted out - installation was excellent. Upgrade to latest firmware, install SD card, all is good. You can check the camera from anywhere in the world! This is a security problem for your local network, but... not a terrible one, I hope.Video quality is good. Camera has a nice angle, at least for my yard. If you want more flexibility, you probably should get a pan and tilt camera. The battery, even without sun, seems to last for about 3 weeks. This will depend on your motion settings. With solar, it stays at 100% all the time. The amount of lag in the motion detection is another sore point. It seems to be about 15 seconds. That is, motion happens, the camera has to notice, then it has to wake up, then it starts recording. I have some recordings with nothing in them.... likely because whatever triggered the motion detection is long gone. This is true of all cameras like this, so don't ding them for it.The main problem with the app is in order to capture a video, you have to go into the saved videos, play the video, then go out to another screen, and press the record button. You always lose about 4 seconds off the front of the video. Contact with the vendor they originally say it can't be done, I say just put a button on the "display video" page. I have a Solicom camera that does just this, and downloads to your phone. Maybe someday they will do this, just like other similar camera. After about 4 months, and after a few weeks of rain, the camera failed. I contacted their support, asking how maybe to revive it, and they offered to send me a new one. To be really clear, they wanted me to post a 5 star review, then they would send it... I told them if they wanted to send one they could, and I'd write an honest review. Which they did, which I am doing. Although to be fully honest this is probably a 4-star product, with the problems I'm saying. OTOH.... all other cameras of this type seem to be $250, to have one at $80 is brilliant and I think one shouldn't expect too much.I think the camera failed so quickly because water got in. The camera is waterproof "in name only", in that there are clear seams with gaps, and the seal at the bottom (where it plugs in) isn't very serious, and the connection from the solar panel to the camera is a standard miniUSB, not a waterproof connector like another (more expensive) camera uses. This time, I got out some old silicon glue that I had for a bathroom project, the good waterproof stuff, and I've slathered it over most of the ports. I've left open the bottom vents, where it seems they want condensation to come out. I'm hoping this keeps out the water and maybe it lasts for a few years. If you get this camera, either don't put it directly in the rain, and/or mount it carefully so it's exactly upright and water won't get in the bottom, and/or seal it with silicon, and/or don't expect it to last through a rainy season. Will update if this one fails...

The camera works as intended. You will occasionally get network disruptions. The equipment works decently however be it known wireless is and can be prone to hacking. The cameras range will reach out to my street which is probably 15 meters roughly. The picture quality in HD is pretty clear even with the night vision. The camera overall has done very well over the year of use I have had.. I am amending the review as customer service did reach out and showed emails were sent after registration. I did not receive them. They are currently rectifying the situation.

I'm usually picky when it comes to cameras but this one really is terrific. Easy set-up. Works extremely well with very good picture. I recently ran into a recent issue but the service team at ie Geek addressed the problem quickly. I would highly recommend this camera!

I was looking for a camera that didn’t drain loads of batteries. This was an excellent choice. I will post pics of quality when I get them. Just a note, this doesn’t include a memory card so you’ll need one to setup.

The entire process to set up the camera took maybe 30 minutes. Once I got it on my Wi-Fi network, it was connected and ready to use. Battery lasts all night because I made sure to get a full charge before installing.
