If you're only using it with the phone and no accessories attached to the phone, you can use this up to an iPhone max (if carefully balanced.However, the locknut that you should be able to use on the extendible gimbal arm doesn't work. I liked the gimbal enough to order a second one and return the first, but the second one I just received, also won't lock. The arm slides up and down easily regardless of whether you have the lock nut firmly tightened or not. The gimbal arm does stay in place, as it clicks into place so I could use and test it out, but I don't feel comfortable using it without being able to lock the extendible arm in place, so, unfortunately, returning the second one rather than replacing.Even so, I'm trying the Smooth 5, because after testing with the Q3, I decided that a heavier duty gimbal was better for my needs as I intend to add some accessories to my phone. I was planning on sending the Q3 to my daughter for her use, but now it's just going to be returned. Must be a simple quality control problem with the current batch as I cannot find anyone else with this issue.

App will not connect with the gimbal. I’ve tried power cycling, uninstall and reinstall, nothing seems to work. If you try to reach out to customer support, seems like their website is down. The gimbal itself works just fine but I’m interest was towards the face recognition feature which must be used with the app. Not happy and unfortunately can’t return it since it’s more than 30 days.

Everything is good however the device will be taxed by larger sized and weight of phones similar to Note 20 Ultra which are now becoming the norm.

Works well with iPhone 12 pro. Doesn’t have any issues with weight of phone and case like other gimbals. Changing modes right on gimbal instead of app is a game changer!

Its super easy to handle. Feel is really premium. This is my second gimbal from zhiyun, already had smooth Q2. Q2 had a shortcoming with wide angle camera captures which has been addressed really well in Q3. Easy to balance and almost ready to go. I really like the placement of functional buttons on the gimbal, they are placed at really comfortable positions and help use it with utmost ease. Battery life is really good. Definitely a keeper.
