The Feiyu Tech Pocket 2 is an excellent handheld stabilized camera, and I absolutely love it! Prior to getting the Pocket 2 I had experience with several different cameras, including the first generation of the DJI Pocket and DJI Osmo Action, plus a few other ones, but I think by far the Pocket 2 by Feiyu Tech is the best of them all. There are a lot of positives to be discussed about this gimbal camera and only a few negatives to be mentioned, but before that a few quick words about the packing and presentation. The Pocket 2 comes in a great retail package, very solid and protective, with images of the product and some of the technical specs outlined as well, inside the box, you have the camera, a good printed in English user manual, perfect carrying case, charging cable USB-A to USB-C and a wrist strap.Positives:- Compact, yet packed with features and functionality - The camera weighs only 127 grams, it can be packed in anything, including most pockets, which is exactly the whole purpose of it, to be carried in a pocket and use it whenever needed with a quickness. Despite the small body, the Pocket 2 can film in 4K while stabilizing the footage too.- All metal body - Very solid construction, there is nothing that feels cheap with this one, no plastics or thin materials used here, very well put together.- Built in microphone and speaker - The camera is ready to record not only video but stereo sound as well and the footage can be reviewed on the screen and you can hear the sound on the built in speaker.- External microphone capability - This is one of my favorite features actually, for a better sound quality it is always recommended to use a higher quality external microphone. I even tested it with a wireless external microphone and it worked great.- 3 Axis stabilization - The 3 axis gimbal is flawless, it is helping to stabilize the image footage even in extreme situations when running, jogging or playing some sports.- Up to 512GB MIcro SD card support - The card I am using is 256 GB, but double that size is supported as well and all that storage translates to 9 hours with the maximum quality of 4K at 60 frames or 20 hours with 1080P at 60 Frames.- 1.3 Inch touch screen - Big enough and bright screen with touch functionality and most of the options and menus are done using the touch screen.- 130 degree wide view, 1/2.3 Cmos sensor, video, time-lapse, slow motion video, single Shot, panorama, motion lapse, hyper lapse, and face tracking options.- 875mAh battery with fast charging - It takes about an hour and twenty minutes to change the battery and a little over two hours to drain it while filming in 4K 60FPS.- Built in quarter inch thread on the bottom for attaching tripods, arms and other extensions.- Magnetic base, allowing the camera to be easily attached to any metal surface that can accomodate magnets.- No need to install apps on smartphones or tablets to control the camera, although it is possible, not necessary.- Super quiet motor operation, you can barely hear the stabilizer and the camera moving.- Thumb joystick control, very easy and convenient to navigate and control the camera without having to use multiple controls.Negatives:- The image quality is still not perfect, especially in dark environment situations, I wish that they did some more tuning to deliver a crispier image.- The battery life could be better, I know that in order to keep the small size the battery can't really be too big, but it is wishful thinking. Also the battery is not replaceable.- Digital zoom, not as useful as optical zoom, naturally the image quality degrades if you are using it.- Still images only at 12MP, kind of low considering that a lot of smart phones do 64 and even 128MP images nowadays.- No water resistance of any kind, without an additional protective case.- Still pretty expensive at $369 and at this price is even more expensive compared to its biggest competitor the DJI Pocket 2.Overall, a great little camera by FeiyuTech that is packed with features and offers plenty of functionality for videographers, photographers, bloggers and other filming enthusiasts.

I am a Professional Home and Personal Chef and I also teach cooking both in videos, directly online and in live streams. I am also an online influencer, Vlogger, product reviewer, and commentator. As such, my needs are mixed and many when it comes to cameras, microphones, mixers, and input devices for computers, studio & editing equipment, and various software applications.I have spent the last few months putting this FeiyuTech pocket cam through its paces. I have used it as a walking and traveling vlogging cam, as well as stationary for video production. The many features and capabilities of this cam have exceeded my expectations, and the unit has features not found on other similar cams like the DJI OSMO Pocket Cam that clearly set it apart from the pack. This Pocket Cam 2 is exceptionally well-designed and operates perfectly as intended. The display window is larger than others of the type and the touch controls for settings is extremely good and very easy to use. All settings can be adjusted by swipe and touch.

This is a really nifty gadget! It stays extremely stable all the time and has multiple modes and frame rates to pick from. The photo and video quality is nice and crisp with the only downside being the controls take some time to get adjusted to and the speaker quality being pretty muffled but once you figure out all the quirks and extra features this camera has its quite the hidden gem! The touch screen is fairly good, as good as I think it can be for a tiny screen and the battery life so far has been great! Construction quality is also strong with it surviving the few falls it’s taken so far with no visible damage! Overall I think this is a great handheld gimbal camera, it keeps you in focus and does a good job at it too, with ultra smooth video!

I was honestly expecting to be let down by this camera. It looks like a well known brand and I expected a cheap knock off. I am so glad I was wrong. The video quality is amazing. Definitely 4K. Very crisp and clear! The gimbal works perfectly and keeps everything steady and locked on to, depending on which mode you choose. The audio quality is really good too! I’ve had GoPros with worse audio and video than this thing. This camera literally fits in the palm of my hand. It’s so small! The only negative I have with this camera is when I downloaded the app, it prompted me to “activate” the camera. I’ve had this issue with gimbals before and I didn’t like that they forced the app on to you. Luckily with this, all the features worked before I got the app. The app itself is good and allows you to control the camera fully, as well as download videos to your phone for easy sharing. All in all, if you want a high quality tiny camera that is extremely stable, this is perfect. I love it!

I really like this camera! First off, it comes nicely packaged and well protected. The camera itself feels well made and doesn't feel cheap. It comes with a nice case that the camera can fit into to help keep it in good condition and well protect the gimbal system. With it in this case, it is easy to fit into a pocket and have no fear of anything breaking. The quality of the video and images is really quite good for such a small pocket camera. What's even more impressive is the image stabilization this has because of the 3-axis gimbal system. It works and it works well for such a small device. The camera is very easy to operate and use. On the camera itself there are very little buttons and a touch screen. The screen is pretty responsive but because of the size of the screen it can be a little more difficult to use - especially if you have bigger fingers. The camera does have built in WiFi and can easily connect to the APP. The APP is very easy to use and navigate and can allow you to adjust settings if you don't want to use the touch screen. You can also download your videos & photos this way, too.The battery life is quite good but of course will vary based on how much you use it. I would also make sure you have WiFi turned off if you are not connecting it to your phone as that too will drain the battery faster. It can be charged via a power bank and can also be used while charging. All things considered, this is a very nice camera and I absolutely will be using it for future videos. The overall image quality is great and the image stabilization is quite good. You get a lot for the money with this camera!

I really like how compact and easy to operate. It really makes capturing your travel or special occasion easier to film. The gimbal really does a good job and by triple pressing the joystick, you can have it flip to selfie mode. The video quality is basically comparable to most decent car dash cams or Mobius camera. It does 4K but limited to 30 FPS.What I don't like is that the micro-SD card slot is spring loaded so if you don't remove it carefully, it will fly out there.I like the case that it comes with it. I read the DJI version requires you to install an app which is a major negative; thankfully, you don't need to deal with any of that with the Feiyu and you can start using it right away.

This camera is designed to compete with a DJI Osmo2 and it really delivers on that front and while it beats the DJI for price it seems to be of a similar quality, even beating the DJI in low light situations however I just don't think that the color reproduction is quite on par. Considering the price I would recommend it over the DJI but I still think that it is too expensive

I decided to give this a try after several months of using - and really enjoying - my Feiyu G6 gimbal with a GoPro attached. I love the G6 but I liked the idea of an all in one solution, an action camera built into a gimbal that requires less set up.First off, yeah, it works very well. The camera is excellent, and my wife especially loves the face tracking. It runs incredibly smoothly, and as a technically inept person I find the camera very intuitive to use. In fact that's what first attracted me to the Pocket 2. I always struggled to mount and balance my GoPro on a gimbal as I have the technical skills and spatial reasoning of a brick, so it makes it much easier to use a built in camera. Here's the problem, though. The Pocket 2 is touted as an action camera, but for me it doesn't quite meet the criteria. An action camera needs to be waterproof, or at least highly water resistant, and with a standalone action camera that's usually a standard feature. Your gimbal may not be waterproof, but if you need to get in the water you can detach your camera temporarily. The Pocket 2, however, is not waterproof. Not even close. The handle has several ports into which water could flow freely, so you're not going to want to get this thing wet. That limits the uses of this camera to dry land, which feels a little restrictive. If you don't think you'll ever need to take surface or underwater shots with your camera I'd say this is a very attractive option. It's well built and easy to use, and the output is excellent. If you need a true action camera, though, I'd recommend a GoPro or similar with a standalone gimbal.

Initial Review Nov 16, 2021Most reviewers of this Feiyu Pocket 2 have experience with other Pocket video cameras. I'm a true Newbie in video. I've never used a Pocket camera like this. This review isn't about the differences with one of the other pocket video cameras on the market. It is about is my first impressions as a novice user.I am a still photo shooter with all of the equipment that goes with it; I have two camera bodies, eight lenses, color charts, speedlights, a light meter, tripods, off camera flash transmitters, and much more. All of that is heavy, bulky, and complex to use. But I may have recorded less than 10 hours of video over the past 10 years.Who is this camera for? If you are a vlogger this may be the best fit for you. It is wide angle so is easy to hold facing yourself. It has very good stabilization capability so is good for walking around uses. It is high resolution so fits in with other high end video cameras. If you just like shooting video, say of grandkids in action, this camera may also be for you.One of the things I found that I really liked was how quickly and easily I could take the camera out of it's case and start using it. One button to power it up, one button to start shooting. This is handier than my cell phone or any other camera I have.I did a test while walking through an airport boarding area. I both walked and then rode a moving sidewalk. The shaking of my walking and hand moving from the walking were almost completely smoothed by the Feiyu Pocket 2. The camera is so small people didn't notice I was shooting video. Because of the wide angle I was able to just roughly aim the camera in the direction I wanted to capture. I didn't have to hold the camera up to my face to watch what I was recording. I kept it at chest level. The quality of both video and still shots is remarkably sharp with good color. This little pocket video capture device is so small and simple, with long battery life, that I'm thinking it will be used a lot so we may break into a family that expands into the video field. The simplicity means I can ignore of those things that make video complex such as studio lighting, gimbals, new lenses, etc.We just returned from a weeklong vacation. I took this camera along. It fit easily into the lower pocket of my cargo shorts. It was easy to forget it was even there, yet it was readily available when I wanted to use it.A few years ago we had a GoPro but this pocket video camera form factor is easier to handle. The low portion of the Feiyu is a perfect fit in the hand. It can be used without screwing on any attachments that a GoPro demands.I wouldn't take my Sony Wireless camera and expensive lens on a roller coaster, but this little camera is so small and easy to hold it is perfect for capturing video while riding Big Thunder Mountain. This is expanding my hobby beyond still photos. The magnetic back could be handy. I imagine just locating a metal surface like a car, trash can, or sign pole, to hold the camera while recording some action.A nice feature is when the joystick is clicked three quick times the camera spins around 180 or back. The unfortunate thing is those three clicks are picked up and recorded on the video stream.Other reviewers complained about the audio recording feature. It certainly has the recording volume set quite low. The one video that I published was just too quiet. I had to run it through my video editing software to double the volume twice, for 4X, so it would be at a reasonable level. I hope a firmware update will fix this problem. There is an adapter available for an external microphone but that would subtract from the compact nature of this camera.I do recommend this camera
