I also owned a Karma Gimbal, but returned it because it was too buggy, and the iSteady was a better design for my use.I mostly use this gimbal for recording bouldering with a GoPro. I mount the gimbal on the end of a large monopod so the camera can be lifted about 20' in the air. The gimbal keeps the camera nice and level. This means that I want a 1/4 20 lug on the bottom of the grip which this gimbal has, unlike the Karma gimbal. This gimbal can also stand up on its own unlike the Karma gimbal. The app is also neat, but I don't end up using it much.Battery life is excellent compared to the karma. The thumb screws can be a bit fiddly at first, but once you get used to them it's not bad.I broke it. It doesn't like salt water (duh). I was hanging it over the side of a boat at the end of the monopod. It took a decent size splash and the pitch axis died. I could feel heat from the axis cover and the grip. I saw no smoke at the time. Once I got it home I popped the cover off the side and pulled the axis controller board out. There is visible damage to the PCB and what's left of some component after letting the magic smoke out (I guess I just didn't see the smoke at the time). So I broke it. My fault.I still recommend this gimbal very highly. If you can keep it dry, at $99 it is an amazing gimbal. If you can't keep it dry, maybe you need a $200 gimbal.

At least when using a GoPro (Hero 7 in my case) this thing is majorly flawed in terms of design. GoPro batteries have to be changed a lot so the fact that the gimbal let's you power devices was a huge bonus. Only, when the GoPro is attached the all of the ports are blocked so you can't power a GoPro from the Gimbal. The next issue is how the GoPro mounts. You have to loosen to screws (no screw driver needed at least) to pull off a U shaped bit of plastic and then tighten in down to clamp the GoPro in. This means that every battery change on the GoPro requires loosening the screws and popping the plastic clamp off. It's a hassle when you realize how quickly GoPros go through batteries. In terms of quality, it's a pretty nice unit and does a great job at keeping the horizon nice and straight (we do a lot of Beach videos on our LookIntoHawaii YouTube channel). Only complaint when using it, which is a minor one, is that sometimes the GoPro hits the Gimbal at certain angles (extreme angles to be fair).I just don't understand why they didn't come up with a better clamping system for GoPros...well, I do, it's because they wanted a universal design. Maybe we'll 3D print a better mounting system for it and see if that works better.

Gibmal for 75$ - yes, its a great price, but:1. Tilt and rolling angles are limited, which you do not expect in case of shooting.2. You can not charge you GoPro while you shooting, although Gimbal has an usb - mini port for charging (usb mini near to bracket).3. GoPro should have stabilization ON, otherwise you get shaky clip even using it with gimbal. Conclusion: Yes, its a good choice for beginners, for persons who shoot a few movie clips per year. No, for anyone who is Vblogger, movie maker and etc.

Love it. Was easy to setup the android version of the app works well. We purchased this for our OSGO rover camera mount and it works well and both as a handheld. Great battery life. Only wish they offered swap-able batteries.
Excellent little gimbal

Works day one out of the box. Pretty easy to use, and in depth video instructions can be found online. My lone gripe is that I wish they somehow incorporated a quick release because unscrewing and screwing the bracket that holds the GoPro in place can get rather annoying. That said, it works great with my GoPro 7 Black and with the GoPro's built in Hyperstabilization+ the stabilization offered by this gimbal, my footage is so so smooth.

I love this gimbal but I had to knock it down one star for the background noise in all my videos.I use a go pro 5 black that fits well(I put mine in opposite of instructions for usb-c access). Easy to calibrate and app is easy to use.About the noise... You don't hear it while recording but you hear it in every video. Probably some way to adjust my camera but I need to tinker with that to figure it out. I add music to many of my videos so not a huge deal but still something you should consider. At the price point though this gimbal is phenomenal.

Used this on an offroad atv trip and it stabilized like a champ. It was amazing how smooth my video was considering how rough and uneven the road was.
